Thanks Anand and Glenn
You’re right about the Toucan… maybe it’s worth pushing it a bit more like some textures and details.
Thanks for the advice

Here’s the update that I just finished:

#43

Wow ! beautiful
you love the color of Toucans…and colors came out really nice.
now I’ll also try toucans.

#44

Ho! Ho! just now I saw full thread and blog. you doing amazing work dude.
portait of tht lady on second page which you did from one book…is just amazing.
would love to see more from your classes.

#45

Thanks Kasana!

Your blog is also full of nice information and cool artwork  Good job!

#46

Had a lot of fun on this one. Traditional drawing and then taken to photoshop for value painting using techniques learnt on Bobby Chiu online class:

Comments welcome as usual. Always willing to improve

Hm… I’m pretty sure I commented on the toekan painting a couple of days ago… obviously something went wrong.

Anyway, I like the first version of the toekan painting best, because it has more form in it’s body. It can use some rim lights here and there. Lovely colors!

Nice caricature btw

#48

Quite old work but here it is. Really enjoyed doing textures and sculpting on this one:

#49

Wow! Thats a nice Turtle! Love the textures. Can you post wireframe images also?

#50

wow, nice one!

#51

Thanks Anand and Magda,

I’m gonna look for the wire…(hope i still have it somewhere cause this was for a work project) but it was very basic and low. I did all the scales on shell and flippers in Mudbox… a real headache by the way

#52

This time all traditional. First time I use toned paper. Enjoyed this new “technique” with white pencil for highlights.

#53

your newer posts hav some real nice stuff…continue to post more stuff lik this :buttrock:

#54

Hey,

Due to late insomnia, I had time to do this tonight… Going back to sleep now;)

#55

A new quick value study/painting:

#56

Hi all,

I just got a Tablet PC:) So here’s my try with Zbrue at it. Even if the screen is small, it’s very nice to directly draw or sculpt on screen. I wish I had a big cintiq though…maybe someday
Well here it is:
I experimented a bit with rake and claytubes tool this time

Thanks for watching and comments welcome.

Greg
And happy new year everybody

#57

Value study from photo reference. It was also an attempt to caricaturize a bit.

#58

HI, there’s some great work here. All the heads have a strong sense of character (especially the last one). Good to see that you’re throwing some 3D into the mix.

#59

Thanks a lot Kevin!
Yes character is something @I try to put in drawing and models and animation of course
