Hey Ellie, love the paint, the boobs looks good for me lol, maybe u must to shift more the colours in the skin, perhaps some yellow and blue, I know you are still working the clouds but maybe if u use the smudge tool on it, it could help, the most of the time when i made clouds I use it, and that works good for me, see ya.
Hi,
thanks for your visit :). Smudge… boooh, bad tool I think, isn’t it? But on clouds it may work and I’ll go test the bad one. Hehe.
Anatomy of a bat, photoref used and my whimsical ideas, too.
Title: Don’t drink and fly

Ellie,
You’re crazy, I love your sense of humor!
This bat is great ~ you should check out the SurgiCat Database, there’s a link I’ll find in a bit…
Cheers,
~Rk
Hi Rebecca,
I found the link, whimsical stuff there, loooool. Comes time, comes ideas (directly translated).
Stuck with the angel… tested the bad smudge and found out it works for the clouds.
Thx DigitalSol

P.S.: and I found the answer… turn off the colormanagement… I was stupid.
Ellie,
This is looking better and better!
I think the really key bit to blending is really using a soft brush at a low opacity, and then lightly brushing over some of the harder edges with the color sampled from that area of the painting.
The neck muscles seem to be a bit stiff / straight, you might try making those look a little more relaxed and organic.
I think it might be nice if you introduced some warm colors into the flesh tones, the overall picture appears a bit cold and you might try experimenting with some warmer color schemes.
Looking forward to your progress!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Hey Ellie, looking good, this are my settings or doing clouds with the smudge.

I think that the trick in using this tool is create a base with this, and then rework it as Rebecca says, I did this some time ago with that technique.

Hug,
I have got PShop 6.0…
Beautiful clouds, DigitalSol … hmmm, I’ll find another way. And the color scheme, too… just searching where I put it. lol
Thank you!
Ellie
Hello,
color… no work on the angel, but totally new painting the clouds.
Ciao,
Ellie

Ellie,
Really starting to like the new look of the clouds!
My recommendations for the figure are to lengthen and thin her arms a bit, and then of course to do your favorite thing, blend!
Looking forward to your progress.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Hi,
blending… yes Ma’m! My favorite reason for a deep depression
Adding the details (hands hrrrgnn) next time. Now she wears pants for political correctness.
And now I am watching “Grand Prix de Eurovision - Song Contest” on TV, last year Germany got the last position.

Ellie,
Starting to come along nicely!
Oops, I think I overpainted a previous version, but I hope you don’t mind and that this helps anyway:

Hello Rebecca,
thank you very much for this. I went on with the face, hair and hands and the foot. The lips are difficult to do and the hair still looks funny, as she grabbed into a power point looool. And the big toe is a bit too big I can see.
Ciao,
Ellie

Hi,
here is the last one, I decided to stop the image. digitaldecoy helps me with another suggestion handeling the values. I have got a lot to learn.

Only for fun, using this as ref for the anatomy:

And this as the result:

Trying to leave the ref as much as possible. Rest from imagination, more a speedpaint-look but that doesn’t matter.
Ciao,
Ellie
Hi Ellie,
Nice to see a new picture! I hope you don’t mind, I made a few suggestions for your piece ~ only suggestions:

WOW…Ellie…THE MAKINGS OF A GREAT PAINTING …GREAT FACE…AND COMPOSITION…![]()
I did not care to much for the panties on your angel…reminded me too much of what was done to Michelanglo’s last judgement…what a SHAME…
Can’t wait to see this one finished…![]()

Hi Mr. SpiritDreamer, Hi Rebecca,
hmmmm, I don’t know where to go with this. BTW Rebecca, a big german Danke for the overpaint. I try to follow your suggestion. Only with the fin I don’t agree.

I think the left one is better within the waves and the right because of the hillock. I am stucking now and mull over the composition.
Ciao,
Ellie
Hi,
I decided to go this way and call it finished. I am not good enough to push it to the next level.
Ciao,
Ellie

Hi…Ellie…I think it needes those strong jagged edged diagonals that form the curl of the wave behind her, like your first one had…captured the energy of the wave in that version,
just my opinion though…

Ellie,
You might try submitting this to Stahlberg’s Paintover Review thread for a paintover ~ he might come up with some great results / suggestions!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
