Hi CgIcecube,

I really like that face on the easel. There’s a nice expression about it that really really makes me want to see the background for this picture… I somehow see a green landscape and something in there which causes the melancholic look.

You’ve got a good basis for a bit of storytelling, there. Hope you can elaborate on this!

welcome back.thats a nice update, the skin tones blended very nicely

I think traditional art keeps us 3d artists in focus and makes our fundamentals stronger so i always make it a point to work on traditional medium. Rather this is an exploration for me because i have never had any education in traditional art.
Been in love with oils from past two months…i was working on this painting but something was going wrong…And i didnt realise till yesterday…Here i am showing an unfinished version of the painting :

Now i learned to paint from “dark to light” on canvas and:bounce: it shows a much better result:scream: Here is the WIP of my new oil painting and i am really very delighted to work on it as this seems to be going in the right direction :

I think this was a great source :http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=4717875&postcount=561

Finally! i am in the army of Zbrushers:scream:
Danger Girl [Abbey Chase] in action :

I really like this action pose of the DG so going for it in Zbrush!
I started the model with Zsphere and further went on with Std and Tweak brushes… hair is painted in Photoshop for pre-vis purpose
Hope you all enjoy watching its progress,
C and C welcome:deal:

#174

Zbrush is really slow on my PC and it can go maximum to 1.999mil polygons:banghead:
Here i have posed it more accurately according to the concept illustration of J.Scott Campbell of DG :

And some more bone studies done with dry crayons:

Thanks anand for the base meshes! I think they will be very useful in Zsculpting

Here is another attempt on J. Scott Campbell’s Abbey Chase…This is entirely done in Maya…need to work more on wrinkles and i think arm is bit off plus the jacket is yet to be done. Crits are needed. Suggestions are welcome…

Wow Richa! last model AND painting are really impressive. Great progress, keep us posted!

Hi Richa

Good to see you back!

Great sculpts you’re doing in Zbrush - look forward to see where you take
this

Hope you do more clay sculpts as well; working in actual 3D can only be
of benefit and inspiration to digital 3D. I’d suggest working with the texture of the
clay, trying not to smooth or wet the surface too much, leave the
marks of your fingers! - even though the result ends up
further from a digital model - the textural surfaces can tell you a lot about light and shadow which you can later translate to a digital medium

Unfortunately I can only see some of your images… so see my comment as
“dipping into those I can see”

hope all well and take care
a.
