It’s great to have you aboard! :slight_smile: Wonderful work in your CGPortfolio, and it’s fantastic to see your figurative studies. I would love to hear about your experiences at the atelier. Who are your teachers, and what is your training like? I have thought about atelier training for myself, it seems a fantastic way to learn! :slight_smile:

those are some sketch from the last year.the are just a4 because i brought a lot of a4 papers from thailand for sketching around the cities of florence.(i knew that it’s not hard to find paper in old city of florence but i’s worried about the cost hehe.cause i never been outside thailand before:blush: many thai guys told me everything in italy are very veyr much more expensive than bangkok,and i felt so scary.u know first time i was here i couldn’t buy hamberger or coke.hahaha.because i had uauaslly converted the europian EURO to thai BAHT[1euro=48 baht]so when i wanted to buy something i had to walk around the city to check the cheapest price.LOL.)
finally when i was here i never use the a4 paper to sketch any cityscape of florence because i always use my camera.lol.now i just bought new big sketch book for the class of nude.:drool:

ps:now i quit converting Euro to Baht.when i want to buy some thing like jacket i had to tell myself "oh it’s only almost 300[euro]!:smiley: "

here is my school in florence.the english verson has never been updated.(i saw it said that it will be online soon since cuople of year lol.)for the info:someone told me it’s oldest art school in the world!?(wow).and the location is beside the Galleria dell’ Accademia,where the REAL Dvid of Michaelangelo is inside.

I have one professor of painting class.but his class has no model for student.so i often go to to draw some models in another open class called “scuola del nudo”.it’s the place for whoever in the school to join.it’s opened on monday and tuesday.and also there are some artists from outside the school in the class but i don’t know how they can join the class.there is a lady professor who is the keeper of the class and she will give comments to everyone in the class (in italian).

about me i had my painting class on monday and tuesday too.same time same day as the nude class.so i have to go upstair to paint and downstair to join the class of nude.it’s funny.students in the school are international.they are very friendly.

i decided to spend 5 hours a day from monday to friday for italian because i like italian and i need to use it here.i am now able to understand only easy phases of italian so it’s big problem to communicate with my professor and other artists cause less people in the school can speak thai or english.(and my english is very poor as well)so… for now the best thing for me here is to observe evrything around myself here.in florence there are lot of figurative thing for me to see and learn.:slight_smile:

SpiritDreamer–thanks Glenn,i just found that you have a very vey very long sketchbook here.:drool: :drool: :drool: (Greatto just let me see his sketch book yesterday so i just found new cool place to learn and to spam my drawing.take care.

Wow, I think that it’s amazing that you are doing the real deal and studying in Florence - thank you for sharing your experiences! :slight_smile:

I think that the first two drawings of this last set have a really nice feeling especially - the shading is really calm and consistent yet has an energetic life to the line which is a nice combination. Definitely looking forward to more! It’s quite funny to hear about your school and its quirks - I guess all schools must have them. :slight_smile:

i less drew real human.the last figure i drew before i was in florence is when i was third year student in thailand(almost 6 years ago)and then i started studying clay figure modeling for a year.:)and now the city of florence is very inspiratioanal to me so i desire to draw real human figure.

Hi,I couldn’t update this thread since I lost my ex digital camera and I have no scaner to bring my traditional media works to digital media in order to post here:banghead: .However I have some 3d…ooddle to let you see.It’s my first digital model of human.I used mudbox.The refs is a french actor(hope i didn’t say something wrong ^^’ coz I don’t know much about the background of him but I saw him in some french movies.:smiley: )I don’t know french language but in english his name is ‘Gaspard Ulliel’.Crits are welcome.

I followed the refs only for the head but for the torso I made it myself.Though it’s still wip but I really like it.Don’t know how you think.Crits are welcome.:slight_smile:

the old schools sometimes are the best my friend, or at least I think everyone should go there for a while, before choosing a different direction (I am also at a very old school and I’m having a blast there)

That last sculpt is looking great. Are you planning to do the whole body?
