Simple Interior

#1

Hey,

I made a simple interior rendering to learn more about VRay and materials.
Therefore I’ve used some objects from DesignConnected since I wanted to focus myself on rendering and not so much on modeling.

So, what do you think about the final result in terms of render quality?

I would also appreciate some tips on post-production.

Thank you.

The plant looks like it is painted on the wall and the objects closer to it are loosing it’s 3d forms. May be you should work more on the lighting in this area so you do not loose the 3d forms of the plants and nearby objects.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, I’ll look into that. Although I think it’s camera angle or camera position problem.

Any tips on post-production?

Yea Id have to say the plant needs to have a little bit more contrast. I feel like overall you need a little more contrast in your light and dark areas.

Id say if your painting on the table was contrasty to the rest of the scene it would make it pop a lot more. It pretty much blends into the wall and makes it hard to see. Id say maybe pick a more vibrant piece.

Overall though nice work, hope to see updates!

Yeah, I’ll choose another painting since the current one really lacks contrast to the rest of the room.

Thank you.

Just a quick update.
I adjusted camera position and changed the picture and the whole scene is really a bit more lively now.

I’ll work on the lightning a bit more.

Still, some tips on post-production would be nice.

I think your shadows could be a bit dark and stronger. The Couch and the legs of the drawer seem to blend into the background.

Try composting an AO and Shadow pass unto your final image.

The render quality is nice, I don’t see fractals or blotches. Overall its a decent piece that really needs some more contrast.

So, I rendered AO pass with help of this tutorial but after composting it in Photoshop there seems to be little to no difference compared to my previous render.
Is there any better way of doing this?
