i always love thsi thread. gives me a reason to clean my room. Well here it is nothign much has really changed just moved stuff around. Well i did upgrade my computer. New video card and finally 2 gb of ram. Saving up for a new monitor though. This one ways 100 pounds but it is also like 28" so i cant complain. Im probably going to get the dell 24" wide screen. Right now im trying out having some backlighting behind my monitor which someone here suggested. I have to say its easier on your eyes. Or atleast mine.

lets see some more setups!

Haha, that’s the only reason I posted my new setup yesterday. I was browsing the thread and noticed my room was looking like a hell hole so I cleaned up and took the pics so I know what things -should- look like.

Nice Zakk poster!

Bummer, and I was only dreaming of one of those widescreen tfts
It got me thinking; perhaps doing some ‘Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’-action to get some money huh?

#675

#676

I got to ask, what is your workflow over so many computers there Stefan ?

Like i have 2 on my desk One for Internet, music apps and reference pic’s video etc
the other is my main 3D workstation with XSI ess, Modo, after effects, preimere etc
Plus 3 more in the house for render nodes.

it seems you have what 5 or 6 on your desktop ?? WOW
how, what, when do you uses all the computers !!
.you have a wicked setup by the way

#677

Yes and no. Each system has its own dual-screen setup and five of the screens use their dual inputs so I can switch between. Two systems use two single dedicated screens and the rest is variable. Depending on what I’m doing if dual-screen isn’t enough I switch to using quad-screen (or quint-screen) using MaxiVista.

Seven on the desks not counting any laptops. I mostly use the space over all the screens because I regularly run off two separate networks (the home network and the business network) which often involves a few remote sessions. But mostly because I rely a lot on many virtual machines (VMWare) and often run several at the same time (sometimes remotely, mostly native on any of the systems) and I hate having windows covered up and trying to locate the right window. In that sense multiple screens help a lot because I can designate any window of any app to run anywhere (except for two dedicated screens) I want. BTW, this is just my main home office, there’s also a second one that houses the more noisy equipment and the bulk of the network (hence the remote sessions).

I still regularly like to get my hands dirty in source code and running debugger windows and other assorted views tends to provide a much quicker and better overview when using more than two or three screens.

Hi Stefan,

First… You go and setup such a cool dark bluish workspace, and then publish it on a… yellow wash bg webpage. Honestly:) …
Second: What’s the case for that monster black tower there?
Third: do all your displays have dual inputs with switch in front to change inputs or do you use those dual mon DVI KVMs?
Last: What are the specs of your “upgraded” machine(s)?
Cheers
