Here are some pictures I took of my workstation this weekend. It is usually not this neat
My desk… there is 2 more desks behind me… and one on my right… one for each roomate. But this is my corner

Books

computer… in the desktop that is my very first animation done for my maya class.

Specs
SCANNER- EPSON PERFECTION 4180 Photo
LAPTOP- Powerbook G4 1.5GHz 2 GB RAM
STORAGE- LACIE 250 GB
TOOLS - 6*8 WACOM Tablet.
Not to argue with you Leigh, but I think it might be beneficial to those new to cg who may be trying to put together a work station. Seeing what’s being commonly used might help them make an informed decision…
Maybe the thread could be renamed to something more official like “Exampel Rigs” or whatever would be more appropriate.
Samo, how do you like your 1220c printer? I’ve been thinking of getting rid of mine because I’ve never been able to get the color output I wanted…even using GIMP :hmm:
Whats that laptop you’re sportin’ there Leigh? It doesn’t look like a powerbook, but its still nice and thin.
Hola Segvoia
Well, she does her job quite well, just for plans and technical drawings that can be fitted in A3.
HP 1220C is quite an old model and AFAIK It is not longer produced (but sold like hotcakes)
Your problem could be a monitor issue. I have a high contrast flat CRT calibrated by software and the colour output is good IMO, more or less what I have on screen. I’ve printed some renders with him, but you need a good glossy paper to get consistent colours.
here is my humble workspace…apologies for this shit pic…

…oh and yeah spiderman is flipping you offf…
Hello!
I don’t have any photo of my workstation. But… I got a render which is very close to the real thing, including the desk and everything that’s in it:

You guys have some impressive rigs! ![]()
Here’s my baby! Keeping a desk clean is so hard, this is the cleanest it’s been in months.

Here is mine:

2 joysticks (usb, game port)
Over 200go of HD using the disk loader.
a 80 go internal for OS.
dvd & cd-rw
P4 2.4ghz
1 go mem
Nvidia Fx 5200
Dual boot Gentoo & winXp
Dual screen on both OS.
I might as well jump on the bandwagon, here’s mine

Specs:
500w PSU
nVidia GeForce 4 5900XT Overclocked
(Thinking of upgrading to a 7800)
Giga-Byte nForce 3
1 GB of DDR-3200 RAM
160 GB Sata Drive
It’s not without its charm, but seeing an Aeron chair, a Power Mac G5, and a new Cinema Display on a desk like that…
I see you have a Kensington Expert Mouse! I use one as well (the previous model though), and can’t live without it. What do you use it for?
Thank you for the compliment!
For years trackballs have been my main HID device, they offer finer control and less stress on the hands when manipulating objects for long periods of time. The only thing I use the mouse for these days is gaming ![]()
