Show us your Progress and how far did u learn from cgtalk

#1

hi everybody this is my 1st thread here, and i ve been visiting the forums for abt 5 months now , and i guess its time to share some of the progress i just achived after reading some of the forums abt digital painting , specailly meet the artitst and some of the tutorials by linda and josmanuel .

and just want to point out that some of the forums were a great help to me to achive some of this progress and looking to go more far as i did not check all the threads yet …

one of the forums that help me out to develop some of my traditional skill, is the one which was abt loomis books and where to download them , i just started to read (drawing the head and hands ) and the result was such a quick , and i was searching all over the net for such free illusturation learning books , and i was stunned when i found all of loomis books available online .

so here’s the result after reading some of the pages of loomis book actaully i’m in page 26 and not finished yet from the book as it takes time for me to move from one part to another untill i felt that i done my best, knowing that i’ll be going back again for better understanding

plz be free to comment and critique , and if someone there’s feels that he achive some progress in traditional or digital painting from loomis books or from the forums here , so please let us know how far did u go … not only loomis books but from the cg fourms and which threads that’s help u best

this painting show how i used to paint digitally before i know abt cgtalk and start reading loomis drawing the head and hands .

1st of all , thanks for your participation in this fourm
about the 2d : u sketch 2 diffrent things , in the before u draw a head , but in the present it seems to me like a warior wearing a metal suit , and his face is covered , so i can’t see if there’s any progress did u made . maybe u have to try to sketch another head so we can see the diffrence .

abt the 3d :
i’m not much into 3d , but i think u made some progress , and i think the 2nd model need some mapping work and texture to look better than it is ,
the past image seems easier to model as it’s all about blocks and boxs ,i think the map u used for the truck (z 1st one ) is what it makes it look good , that’s why ur 2nd model need some mapping work , and some smothing … i hope that i said this right
