Has anyone ever seen a shoulder strap or bag that has a platform on it to hold a sketchbook flat while you draw? If it was an actual bag, that would be even better.

I’ve seen DIY versions of what you described, so you can definitely make your own as the last resort–it wouldn’t be hard at all. Just a strap, a board, a drill, screws and nuts, and maybe a couple of hinges if you want it to be foldable. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a product like that being sold out there though. Try searching indie crafts sites like etsy, or auction/retail sites like ebay and amazon.
