sounds like you ARE having a great experience with XSI. I am learning more about it as we speak.

I’m just seeking out options, weighing a budget, and calculating my time.
A:M still works for me at some level. XSI looks awesome.

I think though if I do move I’m looking at C4D in the future. Mainly for it’s Clothtilde option, and feel of A:M. It works with other programs and modellers so I can do more time wise. It is expensive though. Just to get hair right, I need to use a 500 dollar plugin, ouch!!

500 dollars can get me 5 character models or more.

That is where time vs money comes in.

Cheap fast and good.

I can only pick 2.

Good luck Flog. I’m looking forward to see your stuff. Do you have a website we can check periodically of your progress?

We all might use different tools but we all have one common goal… be the best in what we do. We’re all artists in the end.

Stick with the method you’re comfortable with. If C4D or A:M is your thing, go for it!

I just visited your sight. DUUUUDE. Yeah you have the right to talk about any program you want.

Can’t say you don’t have the feel of spline and polys. Great work using either or. Wow I did not know how great of a 3d artist you are. YOu have this style there. It is not a mimic but a really cool style.

So what are your 3d goals?

We definately have to work together.

It is work like your’s that inspires me. The lighting the style. Wow!! That is all I have to say.

3D goals? Well I wanna get all the characters and stories out of my head and be on the screen. Doesn’t matter if I have an audience or not, I’ll just do my best to make them appear virtually.

I believe we as 3d artists have the same goal… to be the best in what we do. Be it animation, modeling or rendering. We all strive for perfection.

I look up on other artists as well for inspiration. Whenever I feel down and losing my grip on 3D, I visit these sites:
