I find it humorous that of those responding here about Modo’s worthiness are people who fall into three basic categories.
-
People whohave never touched Modo and are just making the presumption that it can’t hold up or that people will be disappointed.
-
A group of people responding who clearly have a very personal agenda here that is not meant in the best interest of everyone involved. Either for their own personal business reasons or groupie loyalties.
-
People who actually bought the program and are very pleased and excited with it.
In each of the first two cases, both are sides who haven’t used Modo, are refuting comments from people who did purchase and have been using the product.
Not sure how one can arrive at so specific a conclusion without having tried the program.
Points to consider:
the popular complaint is it is too expensive, “get Silo for 100.00” uh huh.
For anyone familiar with LW, Modo is very simple to adjust to. Contrary to comments being made, Modo resolves many workflow issues with LW. It also adds a very useful set of tools that LW doesn’t have. Does it solve problems? sure does. Claiming LW doesn’t have any issues is utter nosense and some of the people making those claims really need to take a step back and be honest with themselves.
I saw elsewhere that Modo was like having 100 tools lined up neatly and well organized on pegs in your workshop, while LW was like having 150 tools in disarray, all over your table, in drawers and in the back of your truck.
It was probably one of the best comparisons and most accurate I have seen yet.
And lets be clear here, I don’t dislike LW. I have several licenses purchased of it. But it isn’t perfect, it isn’t the Holy Grail and it most certainly is really lacking in modern functionality.
I bought Modo after getting to see it in action a number of times, and have not regretted the purchase at all. In fact I almost exclusively use Modo for modeling these days.
has nothing to do about brand and everything to do about tools and workflow.
