shortcut help

#1

at work i have a lot of downtime, and decided to install wings3d on my machine for when there is nothing to do. ive been a max user for about 7 years, and am quite used to the shortcuts.

is there a way to insert the max commands into wings? i am used to having shortcuts for what i do, and having to perform 2 mouseclicks to simply move a vertex is quite tiresome, never mind requiring a keystroke to simply deselect all.

any help appreciated!

thanks

To set a shortcut key,for example for move free,
select an element, say a vertex, and bring up the contextual menu.
Hover over the command you want to make a shortcut for,
and simply hit “ins” on your keyboard. If you look at the help bar now,
you will see it says to hit the key you want to use for that command.
After setting the key for moving verts, you might want to do the same for edges and faces as well,
as it does not set hotkeys across all modes.
To remove a hotkey later, just hover over the menu entry and hit “del”.

Also look in the help menu…there are 2 items dealing with shortcut keys…
Setting them, and a list over all defined hotkeys.

as for the deselect thing, not sure what you’d like to see as opposed to the one keystroke…
Much better than having to hold shift or something like that to add to selections.
Oh,and you can also deselect all by clicking some empty space in the toolbar,
next to the mode selection icons. I’ve hidden that toolbar since I was able to tho,
as using hotkeys is soo much faster.
