hi! it’s lookin’ nice!
Short Scenes: Pygmalion Computer Graphics Project
Two AVI clips of the cell phone conversation are available on the FTP site under 1_Preface/Animation/2_CellPhone/Tests. These have a slower keying sequence for the initial message, the question marks have been removed from subtitles, and there is a variation with a flipped background for the cell phone boy’s portion of the dialog.
Regards,
Mike
hello, i’m going to my parents today, and i don’t sure about internet there, so Merry Christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas to you toomirabeau …
…and of course everybody too!
Putting the Avi on the FTP…instead of streaming sounds like a good enough idea mikevanh … but it would be cool to stream…I’m gonna have to find out how to do that…I think it’s easier that way. :wavey:
Good job Pivot …did you do the sky too or is that an imported scene?
I wonder what the building would look like in colour?
Merry Christmas…
Tnx. The sky is just a photo. Placed it temp there to get a background.
I could of course insert a bg in the scene file, but i assume the rendrers wanna
use their own setup anyways, and just use the models created.
Or did i misunderstand? Am I making a scene for animating in, or just the models
that will be placed in alerady setup scenes?
The model in color? Well. There is some color
In the reference photo it looks like
the model is grayish (of course, the reference is black n white, but I get a feeling it’s
grayish. hehe ;)). If there’s more people who want to give it some color i’ll do that.
Guess we’ll wait till maaronsen comments it to be sure. What u think mike?
I also need login info for the ftp asap. My deadline is tomorrow, but without ftp info
or login I can’t deliver…
Here it is Pivot:
server: ftp.pygmalion2006.org
 I’m not sure that my password that maronson gave me is the same password for everyone else …
B:[/B] I had the password on this wip but you know what…what’s the point in sharing a password publicly.
I’ll give that to you via your email, Pivot .
Edit Ummm…that’ll be your private message…Can’t get thru 2 u via email.
I wasn’t paying attention to the “Project Plan”. I didn’t realize it’s suppose to be in black and white. As for me I need to really study the storyboard properly…even though I can’t completely figure out what’s going on…
Yeah…it seems wise enough not to render the sky…renderers are picky…no?
And I wonder when is the deadline for all the rigging? I hope it’s nearly finished and done before the deadline. :argh:
Merry Christmas Everyone! :wip:
Tnx!
I got an email from Mike with the info, so I’m al good now
Gonna upload it tonight…
Have a merry merry xmas everyone!
Hey everyone!
I noticed on the website that the animation deadline for Convent Garden Liza is 20th December!
I should’ve looked at the FTP site…my fault…
But can I still bend the rules and do her still?!? Oh I’m crossing my fingers for this … I had such a busy month …but that’s no excuse.
Maronson: I hope you can forgive me for that. I hope…I hope I hope I do hope I can still do CGL!
I also read that we are behind schedule a bit…so can I still do her?
I mean I didn’t had the chance at using the internet on my computer. That’s the only place I have no FTP issues.
Oh please forgive me. please please please.

Hello everyone, I had a great time in Costa Rica but now I’m back and ready to finish the project with a big run to the finish line. We need to take the December Roll call today. I need to know how members with December deadlines are doing. Some have Dec 20, some were Dec 25th and a few were Dec 31st. Please e-mail me or post here how far along you are, what you still need to do, any questions that have come up, and a good estimate of when you will post.
Remember, I can not even ask anyone to carry your work to the next step until you post. Modelers depend on riggers, riggers depend on animators and animators depend on compositors to finish so they can see their work in the final production.
I will also sent out this message in an e-mail but it will be a general message. I don’t have time to ask specific questions about your assignment today.
Kemer2: you are making Loulu79 cry. How are you coming with the rigging for her model?
Uploaded the model yesterday.
Textures included. Maya 7 .mb and I saved one .obj with .mtl too.
That should be good for everyone
I recommend inserting the model, with the sidewalk and everything around,
into a preconfigured scene. The scene I render it in got some mad GI settings.
Direct lighting sources and other clever solutions would probably be better
since I doubt the project got a sun/pixar/dreamworks alike
renderfarms to use in this project
btw. Who’s doing the rendering in this project? If there will be trouble getting
it done before deadline I can use my workstation boxx for some, and i might
invest in a rendernode or two the start of next year. If so I got even more
power to share!
Give me a heads up…
The model are located at the FTP server here: Backgrounds/Models/Exterior2Model.rar
Cool Pivot …you’re awesome. :bounce:
Not only did you finished the modeling and have it uploaded already but you’re going to give extra, extra help on rendering?!?
Aie aie you’re making everybody’s life easier.
I appreciate that…
Hehe. Nice to hear you’re satisfied ![]()
Of course I wanna help out the best that I can. I want to see this
project be a sucess! It’s already on a good roll to being, and I’m sure
it will be an awsome flic in the end!
Tughan has submitted a test render of the student in the classroom. I hope he doesn’t mind if I share it with you. He has positioned the model in the classroom environment just right. It seems as though he has just recently stood up from the empty chair to begin his recitation. This is the beginning of seeing all our characters come to life. I’m stoked. Good work Tughan!
Happy Holidays everyone.
maronson, glad you like it my friend. I’ll also render a shot from a back camera angle with Teacher video, so we can see her too.
By the way, is it ok that I render out high-quality divx video files for the final render? Or should I upload PNG frames to our ftp? Also, voice from Teacher video and voice from pre-recorded teacher is different. And timing is not exactly the same. If I render out video files, I can try to match lipsync to it. Or, I render out PNG frames, then you may tweak out the sound while compositing final output.
Hi everyone my ladies powder room model is uploaded
and here is my high res render which shows almost everything
and tell me if u need another render

a high-quality divx will be great… if you have alittle extra time the PNG files could be a useful back-up, but a video would be most important…
thnx
