Short Scenes: Pygmalion Computer Graphics Project
Hello Everyone, I´m in Costa Rica. It´s a present for my wife`s birthday. I don´t think I will have Internet Access after today so help one another and keep your posts coming. If some one shows up that doesn´t have FTP access and needs a model, Then Erik or Mike van Handel or teabgs can ask them off the forum for a email address and send them the model as an attachment, I will straighten things out when I return.
I am looking forward to some great posts when I return!
ericgorski: Welcome to the Project. Good to see your first post. Don´t be shy.
loulu79: Glad to see your FTP problems solved.
pivot:The door is Great! It will not open so you can move on to the fence now.
Ok. I’ll do the fence now then.
The door’s frames, the bumpy lines, where from a reference image
posted here earlier. I did something inbetween and kept some detalils
and discarded others. For instance, the reference pic had a door like mine
but with more details on the frame, a double door, window over the door,
‘concrete-flowers’ around the ‘stone’ etc. I guess it won’t be seen so much
in the scenes anyway, so I don’t think i’ll do anything with it.
I’ll post more shortly
Dear Pygmalion team,
I unfortunately will not be able to continue my rigging for the team, as my computer is being taken away from me tomorrow for relocation purposes. I would love to continue my work at my current work but I do not think that would look to good. It was certainly a pleasure to work for you guys I have uploaded the work that I did. If any one wants to take it from there I shall also keep an eye out and if I am lucky to have my computer back on Christmas and the collaboration still needs my help I would be glad to join.
the head has been unbound to be able to add the blends and also added a couple of bones that i was going to use. this is a start if any one would like to take it on from there sorry again for the short notice and i really appreciate the team putting their trust in my talent I would like to wish you all the best.

Yeah, Pivot…great job. It’s a great job that it’s:
-
Finished so fast.
-
Done so well
We appreciate your talent and effort, Pivot…real swell.
Happy Holidays everyone! :wip:
Edit: I have a question that I ought to know…but don’t…I’m still new in some areas:
How do you upload quicktime…so that when you click a site…you’re downloading to see the streaming animation? I wonder if anyone knows how. I tried playblasting in Flash so that it could be uploaded on my Flash website…but the playblast went faster than the original one. So…if anyone has a know-how on quicktime…I’d be really glad to know. And I know it’s a bit early to ask…but earlier the better is my thing…
Tnx guys!
I don’t feel that im that efficient, though. My excuse is that I got way
to many projects going on those days. Which is good, but I can’t wait till
next year when three of the projects I’m currently working will be finished.
It will be nice with some spare time again. Heh.
I’ve started the texturing prosess and will finish this next weekend.
My deadline is 20th desember, so I’m soon running out of time
Hey Rockmanex. I hope your quarter ended smooth. I am sure you have been super busy. Just let me know when you have had a chance to tweak GBS.
Thanks a lot. I hope everyone is doing good.
hi guys
can anyone help me to export my ladies poeder room into .obj
because when i try to export from maya directly obj is not between the available formats.
thank you
You gotta activate the .obj exporter module first.
To activate, goto Window - Settings/Preferences - Plug-in Manager.
Locate the objExport.mll and activate ‘load’. You might aswell activate
‘auto load’ too if you’re gonna export to .obj often
Click ‘Close’ and - Voila!
Hey guys,
I just had a quick question. Does anyone know if it’s possible to take a model from lightwave that has blendshapes, bring it into maya and add more blendshapes, and then export it back to lightwave? Just curious cuz I might have to do this for another project.
By the way, nice job as always to everyone!
I know you can export geometry between platforms as an obj. But if they have connections I dont thinck you can and still keep the connections. I know there is a plug in on highend that lets you go between platforms but how much I dont know. Personally I only tried to switch between Max and Maya and even that was only geometry so we went with the the obj. route. Why dont you just modle the blnd targets in Lightwave?
I may not be an expert in Lightwave area…but I know there’s a downloadable pluggin for that. The biggest problem…is that such a thing would only save the modeling…not the blend shapes…I was on a similar project, where we had to use Maya for animation…but we wanted the look in 3DS Max. There was a pluggin for that (I can’t remember the name right now…but I think it can be done via internet search)…however…we had to re-rig it in Max…
So best to model only … then export it to the desired software.
Look here http://thespread.ghostoutpost.com/Maya2LW2.html. We’ve thought about trying this on the shirowproject in the past. We currently use .obj to move models around. The fbx format sucks (excuse my language, but it does) at linking maya and LW. I had a little but unsatisfactory success with LW to XSI using fbx. The above link may be an answer for you, but we haven’t had time to test it.
Indeed, great work on this collab everyone
.
WILSON 3d: It will be ending today, and then I’ll be on the plane flight to lousiana this weekend…as soon as i get established I’ll get the model up and finish it out.
Exterior two = FINISHED!!
What u all think? Texturing was a difficult prosess. I though it would be
easy because the building consisted mainly of concrete. I was wrong.
The concrete made the building too simple, and I had to freshen it up to
get it realistic. Heh. Yeah well. After several hours of texturing
today I guess I’m finished.
Since exterior two is just over the road from exterior one the road texture should
probably be the same. If someone could share that one with me I could put it to use.
Or maybe the animators could just slap it on before using the scene?
Could someone give me some ftp info so I can upload the model?
(btw. the bg is just a stand in
guess this should be something alike
the one in exterior one too)
