Just a question what is your renderer??
Seems to be GI but i am persuaded that its a simulated global lightning…
But its really nice… smooth and a good grain

>> No GI, scanline renderer of max 6, omni and directionnal lights whith a gray ambient.

an English version will be available soon, thanks for watching !

Very nice short indeed, especially when it comes to rendering and texturing. The animation has its shabby bits. The carrying of the boy is a bit floaty as well as the insertion of the switch into the machine. The boys arm also seems to disappear in his torso a bit at times.
But it’s the quality of the film that makes these little flaws unimportant or, at times, even fitting.

best of luck and thanks.

thanks for your coments Unlikely

yes i’m not a very good animator, but as you say the first objective is not a demonstration of perfect animation, i just want to make a film  …i prefer modeling, texturing and lightning
( and the motion flow of character studio was not my friend during this production… )

what cool film !

I thnik the story is great, and the expression are great to
The render is quite nice  some animation could be more flexible, but in the majorité it’s a cool work

for the most part atleast. The part I do love is the opening sceens when the camera is scrolling sideways with the images of the robots and the sounds of war, that was very nicely done. The other part i do love is the concept.

As was mentioned before the modelling, animation and texturing needs work. It didn’t appeal to me especially when the short looked like a video game. good effort

don’t mean to be too harsh

wow, i would have cried if i was in the mood x.x;;; i thought the story was very simple and sweet

The only thing that gets me was the choppiness of the animation. The robot is ok, but the kid seems a bit off. The textures on many of the the objects are superb but the face on the child could use more. I think it all works though, feels like the old video games where the animation was a little choppy too. I liked the beginning where you had a simple pan of the wall, many of the objects looked 2d which made it very original and like the old cartoons. The music was absolutely perfect for the movie too!

I don’t think the French will get anyone off, I think most people with a basic to no knowledge of french would know what “guerre”, “victoire”, “proche”, “revoltent” means, etc. Did you do this alone? How much experience do you have with 3dsmax? I am like so totally inspired to make a short too! Not that I have time…but still! Good work!:bounce:

OK, I come back to edit my post. I just visited your website. You obviously have AWESOME skills, so I take back everything I said about texturing, etc. I’m sure it must have been on purpose for some parts. Hehe

Have you ever watched the movie Robot Stories? It is sort of like this.robot stories

i love it:thumbsup:

#18

wow  thank you hpslashluvr

yes i did it alone during 3 months, i agree about the textures of the girl…but i hadn’t much time to repair this… my examinations approaching…perhaps later

thank you very much, I am very glad to see that people like this story, I could not have a better reward!
