I cannot believe I didn’t post this before. In order to shade objects that seem to have different materials for them, they must be seperate. So for instance this lamp post, while very good, should be 4 seperate objects (at least from what I have seen). The base, the post itself, the light and the top thing on the light. The reason is because it’s almost impossible to write a shader that have 4 different material properties, well it’s not for a pro shader writer to but I am not that experienced enough to do that. I imagine it could be texture mapped, but the light itself would pose a problem since this short takes place at night. So the light would have to have some shader that simulates that it’s lit up. Just keep this in mind.
As for the model it does look good, I don’t think the light looks too weird. I imagine it could have some SubD smoothing, but if it messes up the shape too much such as the top and bottom seams don’t worry about it. For something like this one you have made I can see it being placed in front of buildings or something.
However I do need at least another light post like the ones in this image below. Those are going to have a lot of screen time.

And finally I am going to upload an updated list tonight, with more reference images, as well as a more complete table too so we all can see what needs to get done first, if it’s done already and so on. I think this would be more helpfull. Sorry if my management skills aren’t quite up (lol), this is new for me so I am learning as I go.
OK the new list is up - I am going through images and those should follow within the next few hours. http://www.freewebtown.com/holidayshear/pre_production_list.html
Till then,
Ted
