Love the designs on the garden… looking forward to seeing you get that fleshed out in 3D.

Nice props, too.

I echo the comments from earlier that the guy who owns the garden should be dirty, sweaty, dressed in gardening clothes so that it’s obvious that he maintains it. On the other hand, those short shorts, sweater vest, dress shoes and white socks pulled all the way up do make him look like a Fancy Doofus if that’s the look you’re going for. I take it he’s waiting for his garden to get Judged by the Fancy Lady?

Wow, it’s looking really good! Love the designs, and the video you have up really brings me back to older cartoons, like tom and jerry and such. Very well done.

Only thing that bothered me, as was said before, was the transition from cunfused to angry by the gardener, but other than that I loved it. Especially the tumbling at the end, very well done.

I’m very glad that you said it reminded you of tom and jerry…That was one of the cartoons that had appealed to me through this project and its good that its has a similar feeling…

As for the transition between confused to angry by the gardener, what is it that needs to be changed there? any suggestions?

I’m not sure if you saw the progression reel or animatic or hopefully both but I hope that it is clear that he is maintaining his garden…he is making a perfectly straight garden…
the gardener is a bit anal retentive and he’s been getting 2nd place a few times now and can’t get 1st place…so now he’s determined to get 1st place…he has to make this garden perfect…without a single leaf untrimmed…so he trims the last leaf making his garden the perfectly straight and organized garden that he wanted…but “rut roh, rorge” gopher’s messing it up eating his flowers…

He is stuck in the 70’s with short shorts, sweater vests, and argyle socks…his symbol is argyle as you may notice that his garden especially the flowers is based on agyle shapes and there will be some argyle shapes or diamond shapes in the windows…
The judge’s shape is the spiral…which will be reflected in the pattern on her dress, hair has spiral shapes, her purse will have spiral patterns, and the end garden has a bit of spiral shapes in it which she can relate to…

I’m really surprised more people haven’t commented on this yet, it’s looking great. The animation in the trailer is really nice, especially of the gopher (love the tumble he does after the spade is thrown at him!).

This is fantastic, Im really liking the style used, also the animation so far is very good.

I’d be more than happy to help with this project if you still need any help, My area of work is as follow:

Lighting and Rendering
Shaders
Effects
Modelling
Rigging

But I like to work as Lighting and Rendering artist on this one, I have used different renderers such as mental ray and Vray. Also my final year dissertation at university is on Digital Lighting and Rendering.

VOICE ACTING WANTED!!!

If anyone is interested in voice acting for the film please let me know…

Gardener and Gopher need voice actors to grunt, yell, and emote with non dialogue…
should be a lot of fun…

Gardener is a British, anal retentive, very proper, serious, loner.

Gopher is child like, playful, soft, instinctive.

Looking to test gopher with cartoony gopher (animal-like) noises, as well as
human like noises that are brought up a couple octaves…

I met with a layout artist Steve Munoz and got some notes on some shots in the film…
Updated those shots and posted…

Working on my demo reel at the moment but will be getting back to the film after this week…
going to be crusing on more animation…

starting to get more of the end of the garden modeled…images coming soon…
the Judge car has been modeled and last finishing touches are being put on…images of that will be coming shortly as well

I have updated the Progression Reel as of 5.13.08

thought I would share the progress of the film with all of you...

The music composer of the film Joshua Mosley has just completed the original film score
I have included this with the film... incredible job...

Sir Neo has modeled the new judge car it looks amazing...
