Short film:Axe of Vengeance

Hi everyone.In October of 2004 I decided to make a short cg film.

The script goes as follows.A man is returning to his village only to find that it is completely destroyed.What will follow is an adventure of magic,dragons,traps and demons that the hero must face before he encounters the one that is responsible for the destruction of his village.It will have a very medieval look with temples,mines,mountains and villages.

If you have any questions about the project ask and i will answer as soon as i can.It’s a very ambitious project and i hope we can make something good.

Texture artists
3D modellers
character modellers

We also need someone that will make the sound effects and anyone that would like to help with this project in general.

We don’t care how much experience you have or how good you are.We are not looking for experts.Everyone can join in.After all we are doing this for fun.

Everyone in the team is working with 3D Studio MAX.So if you are using a different programme like Maya,Lightwave or Cinema4D make sure you can export to a file that can be opened with MAX.Also anyone that wants to help us must be sure that he can spend some hours per week to work on the project.This way we can avoid someone entering the team and don’t have time to work on it…

Just a small update.The site is working right now.There are only news for now.But it tells a little about our team.

Today i finished the script.So if anyone is interested in entering the team i can send it to you.

We will need your help.

We found a character modeller.Now we need a character animator and another 3d modeller to help us with the environments and rooms that we have to make.

Soon i will post more frequently as we will enter the design stage and we will be able to show you some storyboards and 3d models that we will begin to make.

We found a character animator.The team is complete at least for now.Now i can focus on the project completely.When we make some progress i will show it here.

It was my intension to keep the team small.This way i would be able to control it better.But there is one factor that i didn’t have in mind.Since this is a non paying job it will be difficult to have a core team that will have time to work when you want.So that is why i decided to ask for anyone that wants to join is free to do so.

In the meantime i saw some very early WIP pics of the first model that our character modeller,Roman,is making and it looks good.When we have something more finished i will post it here.

Here i give you some pics from 2 rooms i am working now.The design is very simple since it will be used for the pre-viz video that i want to make first but they can give you a small glimpse of the layout of the rooms and the size of them.Since everything is wip there will probably be some changes.The cubes you see in most of the pictures is the reference size of some of the characters.Of course for the final video all the rooms will be created from the beginning with far more detail.

EDIT I decided to remove the pics because i will change some things.I will post new ones when i have something more finished.

With the help of Russell we are rewritting the script.The core story will remain the same but the overall concept and design will be much better.Therefore i will stop modelling for the pre-viz until we are completely sure we like the final script.

The reworked script is almost ready.This week it will definitely be finished so we can continue with the design.

We are still looking for new members.In the first post you can see what we are looking for.If anyone wants to join write in this topic or send me a message.

The script is finished.I hope everyone likes how it is now.Now we can focus on the design and modelling.

Things may seem a little quiet with this project but it is not how it looks.The project is going very smoothly until now.Russell has made a private forum for the team so we will post there most of the time.I will still be posting here but only when i have something more finished to show.

And as always we could use some more help.So if you want to join the team inform me so we can talk.

Just a small update.Everything goes very smoothly.We are starting to get some very good concepts from our concept artists.There are still alot of things to be made but no problems until now.

It’s been a while and the team has changed a little since the last time.What i really need is some 3D modellers to help with the modelling process.If anyone is interested contact me and you will get a copy of the script and access to our forums so you can get a better feeling of what we are doing.

Kudos to Ricky for the great concept drawing.And of course we have many more.But i will post them when we have something more finished to show instead of just concepts.
