shatter help

#461

An additional thank you, a very nice and easy to use script. I really like the offset control to avoid collision troubles too.

#462

Cool stuff Alin, I am curious how your script handles the new faces UVs? Does it attempt to map the faces or project basic UVs?

#463

@avillabon good to know … i`m glad it works

@noxy you`re welcome

@azshall
rigth now it`s not hadling UVs and it have problems with concave geometry.

The script collected dust couple of months because ive lost interest ... but there is hope, i may start working on a project which require shattering stuff. Normally i wouldnt released the script with those 2 features missing (UVs and concave geometry handling) but avillabon seemed to need the utilities i`ve developed for this script … so here is it

I have been working on a fracture/shatter script… Its posted on Creative Crash…

I signed up for testing on your site, never got an answer though. I would love to try Fracture out, looks great for a lot of things we do here at the agency I work.

Peace.

when is the release date?
To be decided :wink:

#478

probably wanna make it before Maya 2012 rolls around.

#479

few months back I requested Gavin Kistner (max & maya plugin developer for Physx) to know the status about the new Physx Nima solver with maya.
after getting a feedback from he said that they were still in aplha stage & are very determine to roll out new rigid body solver to have it integrated with future maya version soon.
I seriously hope a new rigid body upgradation by autodesk in their next release!
as these days there are lot of third party vendors trying to build/sell their own rigid body solver but what I prefer is having a unified solver which can communicate well with other systems like fluids, particles,cloth etc
hope autodesk fills the gap soon :slight_smile:
Best,
vik

That sounds great
