Sharing knowledge for free

#1

Hey! I just uploaded my first tutorial ever!
I decided to open up a tutorial channel where I can share knowledge for free and hopefully get people to learn some new tricks.

I’m working with Octane and After Effects.
If you have any feedback on how to make these better, I’ll be happy to hear it!

Respect.

I would like to point out the only thing that I find annoying with some app tutorials … It’s the capture resolution.
Not all peaople have the same monitor as you or the bandwidth to watch in 4K. The UI elemets sould be distinct in normal resolutions between 720p and 480p.

I want to make a channel also but I’m not sure about what capturing program to use… I think of OBS.
Also I want to make a new channel unassossiated from my current account but I don’t know how to do it. How do other video bloggers have multiple channels ?

Thank you mitchino!

And I absolutely understand what you’re saying Demis, I actually had that in mind before recording this. The first attempt at recording this tutorial, I reduced my screen resolution to 1080 so everything will be larger. It def worked, but also because Windows looks extra bad, everything looks kind of jagged. When I recorded it the second time I left it as it is. But after reading your comment I’ll reduce the resolution to 1080 next tutorial and see how that one works.

I use OBS, as I didnt feel comfortable paying hundreds of dollars for a good capture program before knowing if I would be able to do this long term. If I see there’s high response in the coming year, I’ll definitely upgrade. OBS is amazing, but the biggest thing it’s lacking is the ability to show pressed keys and clicked cursor. Probably other things too that I can’t think of right now.

As far as opening a new channel, just open a new Gmail account. It takes 5 minutes and it also allows your channel to have a separate email account. For me, I plan to bring other professionals who want to share their knowledge on this channel, so it’s good to have its own separate email account (same reason for not calling the channel by my name but give it its own name).
