The issue is that when using shadowmaps on a spot light, every object in the scene casts a shadow from that light…even if that object is excluded from the light…for instance the light does not effect the diffuse or the specular of that particular object, but still casts a shadow from it…when I switch it back to raytraced shadows it renders normally (without the shadow). I was just wondering if there is some specific reason why this is happening? or is this normal? I have never noticed this before up until about a week ago, but it happens all the time, with every scene…I have tried everything that I can think of but haven’t been able to come up with a solution for it yet.
I am using xsi 5.1 with mental ray.
