SF Bay Area Modo user group?

#1

Greetings fellow 3D nuts,

I am posting here to find out how many Modo users there are in the San Francisco Bay Area. And, is there interest in starting up a monthly modo user group?

I work at an educational institution that has a classroom full of modo seats (11 workstations)! We taught our first 3D course a few months ago, of which Modo was a part. The response by the students and the drooling teacher was humorous.

The organization I work at is happy to provide the space and the classroom for a monthly modo user group. I’d just like to know how many people would attend, and how many people are experts to be able to push the group forward with lessons/show and tell.

Oh - by the way - Luxology DONATED the seats of modo to our organization. Just another testament to how friggin cool this company is. THANK YOU LUXOLOGY!!

Hope to hear from y’all soon. Lets get a group started!

Dillion,

Theres a thread at luxology.com forums that deals with starting a monthly user group, in short it never really took off. Also there seems to be more Modo users in the LA county area than the bay area though.

I think Modo is still a fresh application with a small user base. Maybe when it grows to having animation, we can start to see more people interested in a user group meeting.

I hope i didnt sound negative…just being real here

I just recently started getting into modo over the winter break (i’ve been using Maya PLE). I would defineately like to attend a modo user’s group in San Francisco, but as the spring semester started last week, I have 0 to no time at all to learn how to use it. But during Spring Break and/or summer break, I’ll definately be up for a SF user’s group.

I’d be down. Even if there’s only a few people it still can work. Keep me in the loop.

I live in the Bay Area, (San Mateo county) not far south of SF, and this would sound like fun.

Im really taking notice to modo 201, it’s looking quite promising.

I will see about scheduling an initial Modo meeting sometime late february. How does that sound to everyone here?

Not sure if we’ll have 2.01 installed (if its out) but the entire classroom is equipped with Modo 103.
