hey you all

I’ve got six computers with a network .
I want to render on the main computer , with the power of all other computers. to reduce the render time per frame… now its 3 hours for 1 frame!

Is it possible?

i have maya and mental ray .

thanks!!

Two possibilities:
[ul]
[li]mentalray sattelite[/li][li]distributed command line rendering (with any rendermanagement software)[/li][/ul]For the second one, you need a maya floating license. With a floating one, you get 5 additional mentalray licenses. If you have a standalone license, you cannot use option 2.

The first one can use 4 additional computers to render on one single image:

thanks!

For the first option
I need to install it or that sattelite has been installed with maya?

The satellite is not installed by default. The link I posted is not completly correct saying:

The mental ray Satellite installers for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux are included in the Maya installation directory.

That’s simply not correct. You have to download it from your autodesk support account where you downloaded maya itself. There should be an option to download the satellite installer.
