I’ve watched Bret Bays video using the Weights Tool & Weights Manager and in it, he’s able to pose the Character Object and then select Edge Loops on the geometry after the skinning deformation has been applied. This is ideal for smoothing edge loops that should have uniform weighting in different poses. For some reason, I’m not able to select any components in Weight Painting mode without the geometry ignoring the Character Object’s Skin. The geometry jumps back as soon as I switch to a component mode (Points, Edges, or Polygons). Can anyone please help me understand how to select a Polygon component in Weight Painting? I’m desperately trying to fix the deformations in my character’s poses.
