Select Particles by Light/Shadow

#1

I’m having a hard time with a new project.

The scene is like that :

A box-shaped volume filled with particles. Inside this volume there is a model(a teapot if you want). Everything is lighted by a spotligth, and the particles dont have selfshadows.

Now the hard part:
I need to select the particles occluded by the shadow of the teapot.
I tried a lot of things, like using light/shadows materials over shapefacing particles, and trying to get the particle color, but i’ve got no results.

Some ideas?

Thanks in advance…
