Pretty women with knives? But really, with all those layers, you could hide a lot of dangerous stuff in a kimono.
Secret Agent Entry: Sida Chen
Looking excellent, and maybe a bigger canvas would look good but I think you have a good composition now.
The vase is a placeholder. Maybe I’ll put in another lady. Everything is on one layer now which means less flexibility, but I think it’s easier this way.
This background is going to give me a nightmare. Indoor scenes are so difficult because of all the straight lines, ha.
Changed the color, the background, went with something nice and red. Added some detail in the faces.
2nd concept. I wanted to try painting something with a more complicated bg, since I never do. It suits the theme better anyway.
Both are nice paintings. ![]()
The secrete Kimono assassin may fits the theme better.
Emphasize the hidden dagger and her expression in the image.
Her intension isn’t so obvious. Unless you intended it that way:)
Hi Lappisch.
Very nice painting touch, I like the atmosphere.
If you would like to do a more complicated background you can have that scene append on a balcony or with the sliding wall open on a larger city.???
wow great work. I’m sure u will finish and I can see that. is this Japanese or Chinese ? keep it up.
This is so soft and lovely. I love your warm palette and the intricate patterns on the wall behind them. Though I must say, I really liked the faraway, detached look the front figure had in your previous version. May I ask why you changed it?
Really wonderful work so far! I’m very much enjoying watching this one develop.
I’m not sure I like the vase and stuff, will find reference later. Just, it’s like dragging my feet big time.
deftsword: That’s a really awesome idea. (WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF IT SOONER) I think I’d like to do that. The problem though, is that everything is on one layer so that will take a lot of prancing around. I’m not sure, the original idea was to have something quaint and some danger disguised there, but actually it turned out kind of boring, aheh.
apumia: I didn’t follow the garb of traditional japanese geisha very well-at all-and it’s likely that these ladies aren’t dressing as the high-class entertainers that actual ‘geisha’ denotes.
Meris: I changed her face because I thought she looked like she was in a stupor actually and a little TOO detached ^_^;;
