So I’ve pretty much decided to scrap my foxes and have moved on to something a little more simple. I did these sketches a few days ago and haven’t found any time until just now to post them. The Doberman sketches are 2 min life drawings of my dogs sleeping and lazing about. I figured they’d make a good subject since I know so much about the breed. Let’s hope this one can hold my attention until a finished image. But just in case I did finish the fox sketch.
Secret Agent Entry: Rachel Finley
So the idea for this is that a Pug has disguised himself has a Doberman Pincher so that he can eat their bone with them.
Comments and crits are welcome.
So despite my urges to give up on this challenge, I’m back.
I’ve sort of switched back to the earlier idea with some character/role changes. I’m not sure how “secret agent” art thieves are, but it’s my favorite idea so far. And I don’t think I have enough time left to really do anything else.
So here we go!
Right now I’m trying to figure out my color pallet. I’m thinking some muted purples with neon greens to show Fo’s map screen.
Just getting started on Miss Meow’s colors. I’m still not sure how this is going to look in the end. 0o It’ll be interesting.
I noticed that Fo was far too small to be so close to the front of the picture so I set him a little farther back, to the side, and enlarged him. I also worked some more on the colors. Hopefully I will catch any other mistakes like this before I start painting.
I started to get bored with the color so to keep from ruining it with layers of color adjustments before I even finish the bg I switched to black and white. I’ll finish fleshing it out and correcting the values then fix the color.
Fo also got another makeover. I like him even more now.
More shading done. Started with adding the textures. I don’t think the characters are gonna change much now.
Edit-
I forgot to add that some of the textures are from CgTextures.com and the rest are my own.
Miss Meow and Fo are two of the slickest art thieves around.
Miss Meow is a retired Assassin and Fo, Meow’s assistant, used to run tech support for the command center of the C.H.A.O.S Corp. Now they work together, targeting museums around the world.
I’m not really sure how well this portrays the idea of “secret agent”, but thieves are some of the most secret characters around.

Hey Rachel,
Cool character designs, like the expression for Miss Meow
The ambient mood is looking nice. Good luck and waiting for more updates! Cheers!!
luminoustooth andRivenis, Thank you! I really hope my style doesn’t make me lose points on this. I really admire all of the realism and the 3d entries. I don’t have a chance. lol But it never hurts to try.
Ferx, Thanks. I can’t really think of anything else I can add to it so I’m probably done. If you have any secific crits I’d love to hear them. (although I’m not sure I can edit my image after the final post)
Hey Rachel,
My 2 cents
-> Extend your canvas to the left, and in the background put the character of the painting frame (the painting that hangs on the right wall) and put him tied in a chair. Or a some sort of museum guard . Mantain the perspective of the room. Put the briefcase on the left hand of FO, and a weapon on his right hand targeting to the guard and looking to him with a malicious smiling ( and the guard or tied character looking to Fo and Meow). For Lady Meow
: make she looking backwards too (mantain the pose, only move the eyes looking backwards). With that changes you connect the characters, action and story. Make Lady Meow’s breast a bit bigger ( not too much, only a bit bigger). Try a more contrast lighting and shadows on Lady Meow and FO to gain volume on them. Your main source of light is the lamp above FO and the lighiting comming from the right front ( for the next lamp that is out of the image :D) Note that the beams of the roof block a bit the light. The lace dress is totally sexy, really cool touch for Lady Meow
Hope this large comment be useful
Ferx, thank you for the advice! I only wish I had it a week ago though. I’ll have to ask if I can still change my picture after submitting my final image. I hope I can because I think adding in the art collector as a hostage would as a nice touch and explain the action better.
