I had a lot of fun with the Steampunk Challenge and this one looked really interesting as well. Looking foward to seeing some great entries to keep me motivated throughout these next couple months. I’ll get some quick sketches together tonight when I get home from work.

So… What was the coolest thing a boy could have back in the day while roaming the development? – A Big Wheel. I could use a Power Wheels car, or a bicycle but those aren’t as “iconic” as what most people would choose. I’ve been quickly doodling in my sketchbook for some neat and different ways I can alter this beast of a machine for a while now. Still thinking of a unique story but I do know this:

A sly, very smart little guy who out smarts kids twice his age, a Big Wheel, Automatic NERF guns and maybe plastic wiffle ball bats. I really wanted to have fun with this and do something more stylized. For now… I’ll throw some images that inspired me to keep on this route. Would this kid have a girl he’s trying to impress?? … Not sure of that either. I thought girls were gross back at that age… I might work them in somewhere in the scene adoring this boy on a trike. I’ve always been a fan of hotrod art… Rat Fink so I might twist it up that way too. I’ll show more concepts when they’re ready. Right now it’s all crazy chicken scratch. lol.

Let me hash out his story, image… and what I can do to mix it up a bit.

Here’s the first image drawn up in my sketchbook. I scanned it in and did a quick gray scale but there will most likely be other variations coming. Definitely have to widen the canvas to open up the left side a bit.

This is a rough concept of the big gunner of the villian force. He’d be the only one off of a wheeled vehicle dual wielding the biggest air cannons you can make. I like how he’s in that sort of Rambo stance.
Gotta have that weight behind you to handle all that P.S.I. coming out of those guns!
