Secret Agent Entry: Marc Camelbeke
my first sketch,i think i have the right type of character…sexy but dangerously efficiant, she will go to whatever end to accomplish her mission…
Started painting…i chose for a greenish lit bg and a leather suit for her…gives her more character:)i still need to touch up the guns and her hands…not too sure about the bg …i might change that at the end…
Nice character design and rendering… although I feel like she lost some of the personality in the face from pencils to full rendering. In the original sketch, the eyes are much more intense, due to the dark around them and the slant of the eyebrows. Overall she looked tougher and more determined… hope maybe you’ll recapture that. (Also, the amount of skin shown below the center of the belt feels quite unrealistic - No woman’s going to wear something that low-cut (it makes the amount of cleavage shown tame by comparison, imho! :D) Good luck with the background! ![]()
it looks great , I would have to agree with the others on one she does seem to be missing her serious attitude from the sketch to the coloring but also I believe you can frame an image how ever you like but there are reason why guidelines were developed with image framing so you can control what your audience is looking at and feeling and in this case you have a medium full shot and it works when you are incorporating something in the frame as well but in this case it just give off the feeling like you are trying to avoid her feet, the more of a full or wide shot you use the more they will look around instead of focusing on the characters attitude
good look
good drawing. i’m agree with michael, in the pencil drawing she looks like pokerface milla jovovich at first, then in the rendered image she looks like evil smiling halle berry.
This is really nice!! Great lighting colooring
you might want to make her face more feminine thou. I think her face looks abit like a man but her body is smoking hot
Great work Marc, with loads of things to recommend it. I do think the comment about losing a little something from the original sketch to the finish is right though. I do that all the time and it’s infuriating.
Some of the menace has gone out of her eyes I think. She looks a little too benign with that lovely smile, despite all the killing tools. It’s a tiny tweak but would bring all that danger back.
Everything written about the eyes seems to be true.
Other than that - beautiful work so far.
I wonder what are you planning for the rest of the image. What’s the story behind such a lovely character?
Good luck to you!
Thanks everybody so far for the comments, really helpful,i will keep all those in mind for my final painting…yeah vincent you’re right about the composition-cut off right above the feet…not that i wanted to avoid drawing her feet,i dont have a problem with that, just i oversaw it…bit embarrasing though as it’s such a basic rule in compo…and going back to the sketch i have to admit her face changed, something you dont control while painting and without going back to the initial sketch of course,so thats another important thing to adjust…thanks again for your comments people, appreciate it!
man i like very much your concept ,but seeing your painted one felt s bit dissapointed,
in the painted one her head has changed very much, lost her expression on face, got a bit width, the eyebrown, the lips doesnt looks good as in the concept, and it made her childish, and it changed the perspective in the painted one, i think u repaint her ,and add a bit more expression ,decrease her smile a bit, add a bit anger, and u can use dark colors for suit(i dont think it is a good idea to use pure black for suit),and whitish(pale) colors(u used more saturated color for face) for body and face it will create a bit more contrast ,and strongly recommend to use cold colors, i see u used blue color for guns only,…
good luck man…
