Secret Agent Entry: Jean-Sebastien Guillemette

#21

Here’s our crappy storyboard. 4 pages, readable from top left, to top right, etc.

More updates will follow!

Thanks for the reply! I’ll reduce the frequency of the grain, and as for the clouds. You might be right about the cloud shifting, altho the clouds standing still are really, hmm, weird! But I’ll for sure reduce their movement! Keep the critics & comments. They help us alot!

Just another render test for Shot03. Only thing lacking right now is the final texture and lighting on the Aircraft Carrier…it’s quite dark right now

I’m uploading the video right now on vimeo. But we wanted to know, how are other people uploading their video in their thread? From what I read the CgChallengeUploader is just for the final video…Are we missing something somewhere? Any insight would be appreciated

your model’s look amazing but then the clouds on your airplane shot is wayy too much. it looks more like an explosion

First part of our animatic. The character in these preview shots is lacking his hair and a few props. Also it’s not fully waited so nevermind the deformation. A full render of the character will follow shortly

Also any insight on how to upload a video using the cguploader for WorkInProgress video would be appreciated. I don’t seems to find any info on that. :S

KingTezz: Thanks for the input, I’ll try to work some more on them, but I need to start working on some actual animation first. But I promise I’ll be doing some more test while taking your critic into consideration!

Hi Js, you should find all the info you need here: http://wiki.cgsociety.org/index.php/Help:CGUploader

Best regards, Varun

Just a preview of our character. Pose & lighting were done quite quickly and doesn’t represent the feel of our project that much. We just wanted to have some fun! Hope you like him!

Just a test for the cockpit shots. It was mostly just a test for the effect on the window.

Anmi is almost final except if people have specific complains about it :stuck_out_tongue: This is also a comp and lighting test. Obviously when the cockpit window flicks, it will show a cloudy sky behind it, instead of an orange background!

We are also aware of the strange specular in the eye lol, but any other critics and comments are welcome…like really welcome!

Update on the Soviet General will follow later tonight or early tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!

What an update :)… Great stuff. I like your character design. Animation is looking good although I think that character should move eybrows more. You can show a lot of emotions thorough eyebrows.
Well done.

#31

Hey, cool character! I like his expressions, nice work.

Just an update of the animatic with the first 6shots animated. The shots in the cockpit haven’t been updated with the latest anim tho, since we tweaked it a bit after the comments we received.

Hope you like it!

This is the final video of our entry. We basicly were finish with the 3d stuff by thursday night, but we decided to take it easy and finish the trailer and making of in the next days because we desesperatly needed some sleep hehe. On a side note, our music guy, Derek McTavish is a pure genius! He created all our sound and music in the last 24h (from wednesday to thursday).

Hope you like it! We definitly enjoyed finishing it! It was a double challenge for us because it was also our end of study project. We’re really happy to have gone through such an intense year of learning at the NAD Centre in Montréal. Good luck to everyone!

ps: the compression ain’t optimal. We just wanted it out the door. We’Ll update later tonight with a better compression!

Great work guys, good job finishing… or should I say to be continued  ? Fun story, with silly animation, nice work!

#38

Hi there, like your comic style, very cool stuff. Good luck with the entry.

#39

Hey, that’s a lot of fun! Glad you finished. General hugging the bomb… classic.

Great as a final project too. About a million times better than our final project from school!! Haha. So what’s next for you guys?

#40

Thanks guys for the great comments! really appreciated!

What’s next for us? Finding a job! you have any offer?

apart from that, we do have a few project down the road. We’ll be posting a project we finished just before this one, we just need to fix a few things before that.

Then we’ll move on to another short movie. More realist this time around
