Secret Agent Entry: Dariusz Sebastian Burdon

#161

Really nice work, watching your making of, makes me realize that’s a better making of then me just talking over some of the pre-viz.

I hate when they extend deadlines on things like this. It helps people who wouldn’t finish and basically punishes people who did finish on time. Lame. There’s already stiff competition hard to say what the judges will be looking for. I doubt we’d convince them one way or another.

One story point, your agent throws the suit case in the other room but there is no one in that room/no reason why he didn’t just walk in and shoot that door in. Loved the timing, I don’t have any of those ramp timing shots. Looks bad ass.

With your skills you put that effort into a freelance gig you can buy yourself a computer easily, with half the energy. Good luck, great job, and thanks for your comments on my entry!

I really like your entry. You have some really nice scenes. I don’t think you should have done the true lies scenes as I feel like your own stuff is a lot better because it’s more original. I do think you should credit the movie as your scenes are very similar. I really like the style that you have given to the whole thing. Overall It’s really well put together and fun to watch.

Thanks of all kind comments.
Juupiii. My entry reached over 10,000 views. That is a lot of views… I have probably veiwed it 9900 times myself.
I am very happy that you like the trailer. It was a lot of fun to make as it is to watch (hopefully).

GerR I am glad that it made you laugh. I was hoping for that reaction.

destruct007. Thanks for your feedback. At first agent was to use Xray Glasses to see enemy behind the wall like I did in animatic. I decided not to do that shot and polish others.

Staszek. Dzieki. W dodatkowym czasie zrobie pare malych zmian i poprawek i podkrece dzwiek tu i tam. Nie moge sie doczekac waszej animki.

Richard3d thanks for reminding me about it. You are the life saver. I totaly forgot to list inspirations.
In the rules you can read “However, failure to correctly credit all inspirations, third party works, team members, actors, etc will result in automatic disqualification.”

Thanks for putting up screen grabs from True Lies becasue I realy didn’t know if you mean those two shot or shots with Arnold Schwarzenegger riding a horse in the lift.

I will credit that at the end of the video along with other films and cartoons tshirts and music albums that I was inspired with… It will be quite a list I suppose including Juan Carlos’s entry

At first I wanted the agent to fight on water, land and air, but while rewriting storyboard I ended up deldeting water shots. True Lides shot was to be combined with boat. Someone shoothing jet form the boat.Than it just didn’t make sense to have boat out of nowhere in the trailer.

I forgot to tell you that the last shot of the trailer is inspired by a movie “Wanted”.
I just wanted to make that clear before someone remindes me about it. It is the last shot of DVD trailer for “Wanted”.

Well done, Pierzak! That’s a ton of great work for such a short period of time. Congrats on finishing a great film.

Thanks saeDubai, adib, mikebot and rsluman.
I am very happy with the general response to the trailer.
Yes it was a lot of work and sleepless nights. I did enjoy bed and pillow a lot last weekend. I am sure everyone did

#174

nice short…Kowolaski eh?..form the madagascar squad?

#175

Yes and No  I was watching a lot of Pinguins of Madagascar when competition started, althought it was the fact that Kowalski is the most common surname in Poland that made me go with it. It is as popular as Smith in US… remember “Mr and Mrs Smith”?

#176

oh i get it…i didn’t know that…still…is a cool name

#177

nice work man, i like your areal city shots, i know how hard those are to make good… think some of your explosions/car flip stands out a bit unfortunately, rest looks sweet, loove the suitcase cannon, sweet shot!

#178

yeah…your work is just perfect…but you could do this and that…also you can do that…and I think you can do this but anyway I think you deserve the prize!!!

#179

Thanks man, I appreciate that.
Yeah I agree that I could do bit of this and that and even more that, but with the time we had, even I am pleasantly supriced with what it ended up to looking like. I seriously don’t think I could make it better than it is and meet the deadline. I would probably have to quit work, instead of taking days off :), but I like my work.
If you break it down into single different shots, you will see that technicaly there is a lot going on. All the green screen, cameras, lights and than keying and than 3d scenes, rendering, simulations camera matching… ooh man. It might have been easier to do it all in 3d, half of that toruble would be gone.
I am glad that you enjoyed watching it.

Hey Dariusz, you did it and did it very well man!!! The London bridge shot is great, the renders of the room with the briefcase and the anim of it are very good too. Very good job man, congratulations, sure you had a nice time doing all that stuff, that is the most important thing, to have fun and I can see you did. Hope to know from you in the near future, I will follow your path.
