Hey,

Friday after work was very productive… With the help of my wife we managed to iron two 3m x 6m green cloths.
Yep… I am Iron-man.

In the picture you can see myself (red t-shirt) and my wife (dressed in black)

Okay,

its no dramatic sene, the f14 dodging a missle not a seagull…

good luck

Thanks CGFred,
yep, I know that the jet can move its wings… I did that at first but it looked like a scared brid  flaping it’s wings… I wasn’t convinced with it. I thoguht that, if it doesn’t look good for me, It will not look good for the others.
I might try it again… because I haven’t been looking a that shot for a while so I maight get a different impresion.

Thanks

Hey,

I have finished shooting green screen… turned out to be more difficult and time consuming that I expected.

I am working on a few shot at the time.
One uploaded here is a briefcase gun. Gun is based on a gun that is in the video game Team Fortress 2.

I have finished rigging the gun. Luckily it behaves just as I want it.
Here is a preview of how it will be animated.
Thanks

Hi man, I saw your suitcase/weapon animation test and everything is cool except one thing, is my opinion of course, I think the bullet must go out from the gun when the gun is in back position and not when it goes back to its position. The sensation now is that the gun throws the bullet like a baseball player the ball, he goes back for to get impulse and then goes forward for to throw the ball, but here is an explosive reaction and the bullet goes out the barrel from the energy of this explo, in fact the case of the barrel goes back just for to throw the shell outside the barrel, no shell no need to pull back the case and also is more shocking and energetic to the eye. Try it.

#86

You are right about that. The bullet should leave the barrel earlier.
The thing is that it is not a bullet but sth like a grenade… I am not good with weapons but, I am thinking of it as if the bullet would explode once it reaches its target.

This is more or less what the gun will look like.
Video file is not the rendered animation but viewport preview with possibly final camera.

c&c are welcome

Hey, cool stuff! I like the idea of the briefcase gun. The animation feels a little overly mechanical on it though I think. Maybe a bit snappier, with some recoil as the parts lock into place (and the whole briefcase could rock slightly as each part finishes moving?)

The camera move is a little distracting too.

That overhead city shot is sweet!

#89

Wow, very cool gadget. I sugest that you make moving camera, I think that the camera should follow transformation of the gadget, it will look more interesting. Also as mikebot said, you need some graph playing with those animation curves.

Im very impressed with your ideas and progress.

#90

yeah I agree. I was thinking the other day, you know if the animation is fast enough and enough moving parts no one can tell if it “tranforms” right, like transformers. Basically add in a few exrta flips and rotational pieces, that do nothing other than that. It’ll add detail and could be done quickly, if you don’t over build it.

Entry woud not be compleeted without some cloth simulation. I am simulating some curtains for interior scene with the briefcase gun. Here is the preview.
More stuff to follow soon… hopefuly some geen screen.
I will refine the first one in Mudbox a little.

Hey,
I am working on the shot that is not originally in animatic, but I decided to add it. It is a bathroom with the body inside adn bathtub full of blood. Body will be an image that I will camera project onto simple mesh or just use image. I am thinking of doing a version with blood everywhere… but I am hesitating as bloody scenario is not realy what is going on in the trailer.

In the end this scene will most likely end up as a single flash series of flashes.

Hope you like it.

Whhooo really nice scene, Looks awesome. Some minor notes, maybe make the lights on the wall a tad brighter, the actual geometry not the amount of light, and for some reason the base board catches my eye, maybe just extend it behind the tub.
Really nice though, having blood all over it would be sweet. It would create quite a dramatic visual. If you don’t want to do the entire scene with blood, maybe you could give a little splash somewhere so it helps us clue in that the tub is filled with blood.

At least YOUR showing work in progress

nice job man

#94

Thanks Richard3d. I was thinking of a puddle of blood on the floor

#95

pierzak,

Sweet bathroom there! Can’t wait to see the bloody body inside the bathtub

#96

damn, it looks like you’re real agent to cope with all this on your own. Really great work, I hope you will push it to the end. And yes, more blood
good luck!

#97

Really Nice! Keep it going!

#98

Thanks guys.
It was a long night last night. I am currently working on few shots at the same time. One with car… pain in the back to render, and birefcase gun shot also renders slow…wrrr. there is a shoting harpoon shot that I shot green screen for all comming along nicely. I will upload some images tomorrow.

#99

This is the birefcase gun test render. As you can see I am recycling quite a lot form the bathroom. This shot is where the animated curtaing will go to.
It renders slooooooow, very slow. Fortunately I am rendering it on separate PC so in will not influence me a lot.
I am not 100% satisfied with this light but… we will see.

hey pierzak, nice progress. i like your interior rendering - if i can help - try to use a fallof in diffuse for cloths shader - it will give more soft look - now its a bit rubber
