Secret Agent Entry: Dariusz Sebastian Burdon

#41

Thanks BlenderFan, Richard3d and melkao. :bounce:
I think I will give more love to camera movement.
Nightime fog is quite tricky because all the lights need to glow thorugh it and it doesn’t fade to white like during a day. I will have gave it a try but I wasn’t sayisfied with results.

melkao city is a just an photography (I took form Sears tower in Chicago in 2006) projected on quite a few boxes or box like buildings modeled to match photography. There was also a bit of matte painting going on :). I wanted to keep buildings as close as I could to real positios, therefore I took few screengrabs of googlemaps to know aproximately where buildings are. I have few pictures of Chicago during a day, that also helped.
I am going to Chicago for a week hollidays this month therefore I might take better photography. I will upload a screen gab for you tonight

Thanks.

Well…let me say that is a real nice job, i couldn’t imagine how you did it!..i will keep in mind that technique in the future!

#43

Whoa pierzak, very cool work so far! It’s very inspiring to see an individual video entry that’s also integrating live action and striving for a high standard like you are!

Best of luck with your work, sir!

I’d agree with the suggestions on the camera and the glow, but looking good nonetheless. Keep it up!

Best regards, Varun

As I have 2 shots with the Jet. I have modeled F14… or F14 alike
Hope you like it.

BTw. Aniamtic is a bit out of date… I have added, altered and deleted few shots… but overall is pretty much the as it was.

#45

Good looking jet there. Curious to see it flying high in your London sky!

Software: 3ds max,After Effects,Photoshop

Hey.
This was a long long night but I managed to finish one shot.
Here it is. I call it “F14 aerial”
Please let me know what you think of it.

Needs few more tweaks and perhaps motion blur but I would say it is 95% Done

I think the last shot definitely need motion blur, but I also think it is too short and static. It is unclear that the plane is really moving fast. Perhaps if you had it fly into the shot? I can’t judge very well as I don’t know where this will fit in the overall trailer, so I will reserve judgment. Still, it looks really good.

Would you mind sharing how you did the smoke trail from the rocket?

Cheers and God bless.

#48

I have added that missing 5% just to have this one finshed.

BlenderFan. Thanks for your comment. There is a fine room for this quck shot in my trailer. There will be one more shot with F14, but to do it I will need to shoot green screen first.
BTW smoke all smoke is from AfterBurn.

Thanks

Oy mate, this looks grate! I realy like the animation of the airplane.

#50

I’m really likeing this one still cant beleive you have done so much all on your own way to go and good luck with the rest of it

#51

Thanks Grazy81.
Its another long night tonight

#52

that’s pretty good WIP rocket trail for being a character modeler/animator. If you only used maya I’d have a bunch of tutorials for you on the water and fx  (not that you need them per-say)
The rocket trail could almost be done in the hands of a good comper. The billowing, burning smoke is always harder.
The tip I have for water rendering is the no matter what the sun has to be opposite the camera, so it reflects along the water into camera bringing up its details.

Overall looking cool, reminds me of the shot from True Lies, the harriers that shoot the bridge.

#53

Thanks man. I might change sun direction on this one, although I also need to rush other shots.
I am working with 3ds max. I know FumeFx and AfterBurn quite well therefore I am hoping to do a bit more of smoke fire and exploions.
I am not so good with Maya though :frowning:
Thinking of doing a shot of plane flying through the city.
Should look pretty good.

The best shots are still to come

#54

Breifcase is an important gadget of my agent. It can do everything and anything…
Here is the preview of it.

#55

Thats pretty damn good again lol

How did you model the stitching?

#56

Modeled every single one  hehe

I have modeled one and instanced it around.
This one is actualy based on the briefcase that I physicaly have.
I will switch between real and CG one.

#57

This is looking like a movie!

#58

Really nice progress!
Best to you!:applause:

#59

Good work with the F14! The camera movement and plane animation are very cool!

I don’t know how you’re getting any sleep at all, but keep it up!

#60

Thanks guys.
Your possitive comments make my day at work fly faster because I can’t wait to go home and do work for the trailer.

saeDubai, I think that over the years I learned to require less sleep than a regular human :). Although I do tend to fall asleep waiting for a render hehehe. Huge mug of coffee and 90% dark chocolate helps a lot

There is still so much to do on this one…

BTW I am seeing Transformers 2 at IMAX today. I will feast my eyes with the best vfx and hopefully come back excited much more motivated
