Here are some images I found while browsing google.

My direction at this time is to portray a secret agent being tortured/interrogated by the villain. The agent will be attempting to escape his restraints using a nifty spy gadget. A derelict, deteriorating hospital room will make for a nice setting.

I consider myself a novice when it comes to CG, this is my first time participating in an online competition. That being said, I welcome your comments.

Good luck everyone!

This is the gadget that my secret agent character will use to attempt his escape. Conceptually, a wire attached to one of the tuxedo shirt cuffs runs up the arm, to a power source, and down the opposite arm to another cuff. Linking the two cuff buttons together completes the circuit. A portion of the circuit no longer concealed heats up like a ridiculously hot resistance coil. Although potentially dangerous to the user, this prototype device can melt through steel.

Here are some models I did over the weekend. Keep in mind that this render neither represents the proportions nor layout of the scene.

The agent will be chained to the chair. I’ll have to arrange in such a way that his wrists can move to use his wrist gadget.

This is the displacement map for the room geometry. The finer details will be sculpted or included in a bump map.

This is a screen grab of the room I’ve modeled so far. Again, this is just to show content, not composition.

I’ve most recently been working on the head sculpt of the agent. He is modeled after my brother, Nick. The teeth are placeholders downloaded from gnomology, and I’ll model my own at a later date. As always, comments are most welcome.

Here is an update on my agent sculpt. Except for minor fixes, this is likely as far as I’ll go with the head. I’ve still got plenty of work to do. Next, I’ll work out the neck such that the agent is looking over his left shoulder.

Got the neck done. I’ll take care of the eyebrows and hair with particles. For now though, I think I’ll move on to the clothes.
