comments are welcome as usual

Hey,
It is looking good as all of your updates. The only comment I would have is that chain that holds the bed is too reflective… looks like chrome. I think it should be more rough steal also the thing that chain is attached to… that metal bit… looks a bit thin and simple (and has sharp corner). Apart from that it is all good, light looks quite dramatic, which is good. I would blur those bars in the front by adding depth of field. Perhaps move bars closer to camera. Good updates. I like your entry.

Absolutly it stands out alot, I think normal mid grey blinn with minimum specularity and no reflectivity would be more than enough.

it’s amazing how a fresh pair of eyes can see those artifacts, i never noticed it, tanks for highlighting it Daruisz, i get someone to fix it right away.

Test render of the laboratory, Comments are welcome.

Software: Maya

In this shot our secret agent jump off a burning building to catch the chopper and save his life, we were initially planning to shoot it in live and mix it with CG, given that we couldn’t manage it in the shoot ( due to lack of equipment ) we decided to make it full CG. with only 3 weeks to the deadline, it’s a pretty ambitious decision for us,

wish us luck…

This is one of our live footage scenes, comments are welcome…

Very nice live footage! and, yeah, it’s definitly quite ambitious to create that whole shot in 3d and make it realist. I hope others shots won’t suffer from that!

I do have a question tho, how do you upload the video on the forum? Do you have to be a member to use the CGUploader? I think I missed something somewhere.

anyway, Keep up the good work! Really inspiring!

Hello
heres my opinion

  • run steps look a bit too procedural, especially the last step before jump - maybe he should start his jum helf - meter later
  • jump amplitude looks unnatural it looks like if he was sliding on a rope, he should be falling down a bit faster
-there’s some bug with right hand animation time he’s in the air

What you’re doing here is BIG men. I wish you good luck

You are definitely right, it’s just that, this is just the animatics, we essentially did this to get an idea of the shot and what it would need ( in terms of buildings and …) the final shot (if we pulled it off) will be completely different, and will have a rotoscoped animation, let’s see…

I think it is a great shot. doesn’t need more than that to get it going.
Even if you think it is not perfect, you can still make it outstanding.

I’d like to genuinely thank everyone for their comments and suggestions; it definitely helps keep the motivation level going - and with about two weeks to go and a fair amount to still complete, there can never be enough motivation!

The learning process continues… I see film trailers in a completely new light.
