For the rain, I think you should make the rain drops look less parallel. Nature is rarely that straight.

ok, about the rain, i have to agree,
that it is indeed a cool element into the all,
but i wounder how it would be like to have it
more transparent and irregular.

Did you try a version with woth eyes open and staring at the viewer? … I may or may not have more impact, but if you havn’t tried then you owe it to yourself to look at the alternative.
since this is the evocative forum, I won’t get into technical aspects that I think could be touched on, but do think if you added more detail into the forehead area and especially make the eye more realistic, looks very small right now and the shadding on it isn’t doing justice, it would be much more dramatic to the viewer.
