That is enough to keep you busy.

I am working on my Bachelors in Architecture. I go to school full time, work full time and still try and find time to pursue other passions (like 3d modeling, matte painting and sketching), basically anything to further my skills.

#102

Just brilliant! love to hang them on my walls.

#103

hey - i really love there latest. getting those amazing textures, especially in the mountain behind the base and the ship, 22/8, and the landscape from 21/8

just OT, could you tell me, how did you get into freelancing? is it worth much? (can you tell i’m thinking about getting a job…?!)

#104

audit: thanks man, financially it isnt enough but its because i spend most my time in school studying 3d for the time beeing.

At first people started asking me if i can make some images, and basically thats how it all started .And now when i have time i do them.

played around with some rock textures.

A very inspiring thread.

Its very interesting how you work Samsons… You use black (or dark) very much… i see you use the hard-edge brush almost all the time? hmm… thats hard… you must know exactly the right values and colors… did you take somekind of digital drawing courses or youve learned everything by yourself?

#108

nope no digital courses, just training alot

#109

had an audience when i painted this, took about 1h

I keep on popping back now and then, it constantly amazes me how much expression you but into the scenes, you can really feel whats going on. Well done, keep it up. I’d love to see a video tutorial on how you create your work, its an amazing style, very quick and dynamic.

How do you come up with the shapes, are they predeturmined or evolve through process?

  • Dave.

#115

everlite:thanks man!,

i just scribble some shapes in the beggining, and if i see something interresting i go on that

#116

Yeah its an interesting technique, an evolution of thought and process. Be nice if you could tie them into a theme, like a short story or something.
