thanks especially for not just showing the modeling of it, but also how you got to the materials and lighting results that you show in your final render. i know half the fun and learning comes from experimentation, but i wish more tutorials would go through the process from start to finish.

I’m a newbie to 3ds Max, and I found your tutorial very helpful. I think I made my colors a tad bit to dark. Anyways, thanks a ton! Here is what I got:

I just finished the tutorial last friday but got stuck with the rendering en lightning part…
and taadaaa there it is…
Thanks mate…good tutorial…i’m een newby with this cool 3d studio stuff and i’m loving it…
That all thanks to tutorials like this…even as a newby i could finish it.

i just finished part IV but the rendering and lighting isn’t that good as yours…so i will try to make it better…can this be because i haven’t put a table under the cube?
Is it because the lighting cant bounce back on the cube? please some advice…
and a last question…as a supernoob like me…how do i put the image with the message?

I solved the cube once… but I tore a few of the stickers in the process, so I was unable to fool anybody.

Thanks for the tutorial. This nice and simple example may help my texturing and rendering.
