RTS about the virus

#1

Good day everyone) I decided to make a strategy with my friend programmer. This is my first game, so would be a lot of attempts to make as few polygons as the needed, what will be new to me  I hope it will be interesting)

So here are the first models, but came out a bit too much polygons =_="

Basic unit

Powerhouse

Shed

Looks very good!
You should show a shaded wireframe view of your models because I am sure members here can give you advice on getting the poly count down. Mention what kind of strategy game you are making: computer, console, ios, android?

#3

Great design and character blocking. I would uite both arch pieces by something like a mutual details of design. Something that would tell they are from the same place.

#4

You’re right, I totally forgot about it.
It is too early to getting the poly count down) apparently, these models will be used for the texture, and then I’ll have to build a much more lowpoly model for the game, now one building has about 10,000 polygons, that is too much
And… We decided to make stratedgy for PC, perhaps it is easier to do)

I decided to use these models as hi poly, so solder will be improved.
Do you think if i make a texture for this model high poly will be visible armor defects from above? In the strategy soldiers did not seem such big…

#5

Truck for resources

#6

WarFactory\Barracs
Not sure that combine them was the right idea

#7

Building droid, I do not know why but it has a weapons :buttrock:

#8

Great work buddy. It’s amazing how little responses are there for great pieces shown here.

#9

Thanks) I think the whole problem in the topic title

#10

Tower shield generator(versus virus), without shield)
Big box will be twist

#11

Looks not so cool =(

#12

I counted how long it takes for all the work: 200+ days of work
so per week have to do more models

Incubator(Virus) for cool untis - they coming soon

#13

Cool work as usual.
How did you study to design those architectural pieces? Is it architecture course or design one?

#14

Thanks as usual)
I dont trust courses…
Usually take a few concepts, shake them, do the general silhouette and then work out the details

Flamethrower(anti vurus)

Does anyone know for a good video course on low poly modeling characters?

#15

amazing work… very good concepts and very nice detailing on each piece… well done. can’t wait to see it mapped and if you need help just let me know… keep up

#16

Samurai girl(Virus)
hard to create, but very low poly

#17

Daddy’s home =)

Walking turret(Anti virus)

#18

Aircraft carrier(virus)

#19

The last guy knees joints look too cubic. Maybe you’d add a form variation there. The rest is good imo.

Thanks for feedback.
You right, legs look not sush good, it will be necessary to correct.
At the stage of texturing going to remake parts in many models, such as adding high poly parts on normal map
