Rotobrush not working on some frames

I am using the Rotobrush and certain frames do not allow me to continue using it. I still have the tool selected, but when i try to add or remove anything, I see the green or red line appear, but then nothing happens to the selection. I move forward a couple frames and am able to use the tool normally again. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I haven’t froze the selections.

It’s probably working correctly - the internal analysis simply cannot come up withz a better solution for the edge detection and that’s why it looks like nothing is happening. you will have to clean this up later using conventional painting or masks.

So is it working and it cant show me it or it isnt working and i’ll have to use something else to fix the edges and blotches?
