is there a way i could, i dunno, maybe make a box and inverse the normals like in 3dmax to make a quick room with AM?
or would i have to model the room wall by wall

Does the room need windows?
The quickest way to make a box that I know of is to draw a single spline, extrude it to a square then extrude that to a box.
You might be able to whack windows in there with boleans… depends on what you want them to look like (you did say “quick room”).
It’s not a quick room but with A:M you can make that:

And you don’t need to inverse normal. Only drawing a single spline and extrude it as John wrote.
To show normals shift+1 and then select the area you want to flip the normal, right click on it flip normals.
but it doesnt quite render out the same way as in 3dmax.
its like, in max, if u turn a box inside out by flipping the normals
and put something in the box
the box literally looks like its inside out when you render it,
and you can see the object in the box
but i cant seem to reproduce the same thing in AM
aw,
i guess this means that i’d have to build it vertex by vertex
and wall by walll and so forth
nutz
i was really hoping i could find some sort of a short cut
oh well
Wha? You just need to make a box (or import it from the cd), put it in a chor and place a camera inside it. Then you have your room. A pretty basic one of course.
It’s not clear what you want exactly… you want the normals to be flipped so you can see inside the box from outside of it?
F.Favé, that was rendered in AM? If so, it is certainly one of the better radiosity renders that I have seen in it.
Yeah, Fabrice is getting crazy with the Radiosity :). He’s got another one over on the Official Forums with a keychain in it. It’s freakin’ amazin’!
Unlike MAX or Lightwave, AM renders both sides of the surface, regardless of which direction the normals are facing - I think this may be what you’re seeing…
