Rookie SubPatch-problem

#1

Hi!

I’ve been playing with the Modeller a while now and i thunk i’m starting to get the hang of it! One problem i run into now and then though is that when i subpatch, the shapes get a bit edgy and not very smooth at all.

Here is an example of the same object with and without subpatch

It’s as the points around the “wall” are sucked in to the center of the object

Anyone has a good tip for how to get around this problem and get a smooth rounded shape?

Thank you!

Those images are not showing up for me, can you post them as JPG files to the CGT forum so we can see them?

In polygons-mode press “w”, then in Polygon Statistics see if there´s 2 Vertices. Press white “+” in front of “2 Vertices” and then delete the selected 2 sided polys. Then press “m” to merge the points and your object should work well with sub-d´s.

Also just pressing “m” might work.
