Rigging and morph question

#1

Howdy,

I’m trying to recreate I rig I have in lightwave for messiah use. I’ve got it all laid out but I need to know how I can change the rest rotations of the bones, like using the bone twist tool in lightwave.

Another question is concerning morphs. I have a bunch of morphs made for facial expression on my model, how do I get them into messiah?

cheers,

Malcolm

Bones - When you are in set-up mode, they are all automatically in ‘rest’ positions. That’s the great thing about set-up mode! Coming from LW, you will be VERY plesantly surprised regards rigging!

Regards morphs, there is a plugin that ships with messiah called superblender. It allows you to load endomorphs BUT and that’s a big BUT…This plugin is unsupported and I have had real problems with it. So, I no longer use it, instead I split the endomorphs out (there’s a LW plugin that’ll do it for you) and use the MorphBlender effect. It’s a LOT more flexible in terms of being able to add morphs later down the road and is more ‘transparent’ in it’s use. Personally I’d avoid superblender at all costs.

Hope that helps.

the problem with that plugins, is that cant work with an object with layers,

example a face in one layer and eyes in other, will crash messiah
insted save as one object the bode or face and in other the eyes, then you can safely add the plugin to the face or body object
