I really suck at LW but I see no other option:
I need a random curled ribbon kind of road. Just floating in space.
I need the option to let the road grow until it’s complete.
If I can erase the road from its starting point later on, that would be nice too.
I have had VERY bad luck using a technique morph-over-bone-chain.
I always get unexpected results without ANY chance to repair it.
So that option has to go.
I could just extrude a spline but that would not be easy to wipe in correctly with an alpha.
Loopings would go wrong as the alpha would follow one dimension and not the road shape.
What I can do is bend a strip with a lot of bones, and then move an alpha texture over it to make it grow.
Not sure if I can do a looping that way. I mean if the alpha will follow the road correctly in such case.
Bending a strip with a lot of bones is a tremendous amount of work.
Since there is LW 11 now, is there a easier way to solve this problem?
I need some guidance. (I can’t work with UV maps. Sorry)
