Rhino 4 newbie questions

#1

I am a long time Formz user and I am interested to get Rhino 3D. I believe Rhino 4 has been out for a while. Is there any news about the new version?

I also interested in Vray to use with Rhino. How well Vray work with Rhino? Does it work like internal render engine or I need to open Rhino model in Vray?

One thin I hate about Formz is the hardware lock. I am freelance working on the laptop and I had to pay $250 one time when I lost the key. Personally I hate to plug the lock in order to work to. Does Rhino come with hardware lock or it use software lock?

Thank you,

Hi,

Rhino 4’s been out for some time, just go to rhino3d.com to learn about it.

VRay works as a plug-in, inside Rhino, and from what I’ve heard works pretty well.

Rhino does not use a hardware lock, except for certain language versions of Windows. The resellers in certain countries demanded them.

Thanks,
I am big fan of poly modeling and trying to get use to Nurbs.

Buy online and you get a serial number. Very easy.
Vray works very good, but shaders etc are not compatible with MAx Vray shaders… a pity

Thanks,

It looks like I need T-sine since I am used too to model in polygon and sub-d more than nurbs.
Any thought about T-Spine?

yes I think it is the most powerful tool in modeling currently. the best thing about NURBS is that they control polygons behind the scenes that will never convolute your model or get in your way. more control basically and pure curves and everything manufacturable.

the other renderers work very well too all on the same RDK and you get Brazil to test for free currently, also very fast.
