Revolve options not displaying

#1

I was following a tutorial from VTC and on the candle maker where he selects revolve and draws a line staright down, but as soon as he clicks at the bottom from using the revolve tool, and option box comes up and he can enter whether he wants to make a 360 degrees or not, well when I click at the bottom, I get a big circle that expands out, and then i click again and its revolved only 180 degrees, can anyone tell me why my options box isnt coming up. thanks

Command line: -Revolve
The hyphenated command version bypasses/turns off the dialog box.
Enter options using the command line or script.

Options…
StartAngle=<value>
EndAngle=<value>
DeleteInput=Yes/No
Deformable=Yes/No

DeformablePointCount=<value>

I assume somewhere at sometime the standard settings got fuggled,this should not happen
normally…normally with the command Revolve…(not “-Revolve”) the dialog box shows and
is preset at a 360 degree setting.
Just type revolve and it should come back to normal and stay that way.

Well the dialog box never did show up, but i was able to just click on full circle on the command box and that gave me the full 360, still wonder why my dialog box doesnt show up, here you can see what its doing

Well that is odd…
Which version are you using?,i tried it in v3 and it the little fix i mentioned works.
In v4 the dialog box is not used it seems and the option to turn off/on dialog box seems to be not there… for this command.

v4.All commands are now scriptable at the command line (even commands that have dialog boxes by default). To suppress the dialog box and use command-line options, prefix the command name with a hyphen (-).

Unless it’s a case of the dialog box moving offscreen somewhere which can happen in rare cases.
oh well.:slight_smile:
