I loved this game, especially the caterpillars :smiley: . I loved that whole time period in PC gaming, when games were actually imaginative.

Excellent :slight_smile: This was the first console game that we had ever. I also really loved the sound, even the first bit of music to appear I remember seeming powerful and gripping. The crawly things at the beginning made me jump whenever they got me… I think it was also the sound effects being loud which had a hand in it too. Nice lasers.

Definitely interested in playing this again- thanks for the info.

There actually was (sort of) a sequel, "Heart of the Alien" on the sega mega-cd. I never played it, it wasn’t made by Eric Chahi, and it aparently wasn’t really as good.
Another world was awsome, The mood, the fact that the gameplay and controlls totally change over the game, I wish games like that would get made today.

It says in the documentation:

“If you wish to play the full title you will need to purchase it. Once paid a key (a small file) will be sent to you by e-mail, which will allow you to unlock the rest of the game.”

I bought it over an hour ago and still nothing! How long did it take for you guys?

i´m very pleased to see this fabulous game being talked and played again after all this years…
i remember playing it with some friends till we were sick of listening the beep thing over and over again!
many times we skipped the school at afternoon just to try and finish this thing :smiley:

I got my key straight away. Did you make sure you pressed the ‘back to shop’ button after using the secure payement website? If you didn’t… it might not tell the AW website you have paid. You get a page on the AW site saying:

Thanks, the payment is done, you will receive a mail to (e-mail addy) with the file “Key.txt” in attachement, that you need to copy in the folder where is located Another World.

Might want to contact customer services :smiley:

Oh dear, I feel so stupid. I closed it down by mistake, I never printed the damned reciept off either. It’s not exactly big bucks. I’ll try customer service and see whatthe say. It’s a bargain at twice the price so i’m not bothered. :slight_smile:

BESt GAMe EVEr… Good one leurieato for hunting that out. It was an Amiga first, im sure it was. BEST GAAAAAME EVAAAAAA… seriously man. I cant think of anything that topped that feeling. Me and my brother used to play it for hours.

The intro was oh so good and oh so cool. It made you feel like you were there, with this guy, while he was messing around on his computer. The way he parked up, went up the lift, cracked open a drink… MAN :expressionless: then got zapped leaving a crater in his office

I think the fact that it was french added a lot to the atmosphere of the game too. so good. one of the best game/story combos i can think of to date.

it might be worth mentioning onEscapee which is a flashback/another world inspired game that you can download for free (for pc).
