Revised Painting - "Distance"

#1

Hello all, this is my first post here. This is a painting I’ve been tweaking for a very long time here and I’m looking for some critiques.

hmm. I think it looks better than it looked last time I saw it somewhere(!?).

Some critiques as asked:

  • there is quite a lot of (color) noise, its ok to have some noise at the final, but at this point it just makes things more difficult to match, looks over saturated (or because of it?) and looses some details. Darks are also sometimes just black (mountains left). Maybe some too hard curves/leves adjusments here? fix the leves if possible.

  • some blueish/white lines or halos around the mountais

  • water may have some scale/amount of detail issue. Fiels are blurry, but then again the water has more details and waves may look like size of small houses.

  • it would be nice to see more details at the foreground and midground, now the noise or compression blurs everything.

  • Check the direction of light and what it means to the environment. For example the right side mountains should cast some shadow so we could see the difference in light behind the mountains and where the light can get through the valley.

  • mountains could have some orange at the light side since the color of light is quite strong.

  • water should reflect some colors of the sky and environment, some orange, some purple. Now it has colors (blues) that don’t come from anywhere.

Just keep it up.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, and quick too. I’ll make some adjustments as soon as I get some time.
