Coming from After Effects and starting to learn Combustion I still have very much to figure out. One thing in particular though is the use of footage. In AE, I import my footage and am able to drag it into my composition. Well, dragging doesn`t work in Combustion. But when I copy it into a composition, there is a copy in the footage folder also. is there a way to uinstance the footage I want to use?
Reusing footage in a Project

Honestly this is something I still haven’t figured out how to do correctly. Usually what I’ll do is just work in the schematic view and wire it in such a way that my footage feeds all of the layers I want it in.
That being said, I’m not entirely sure it actually saves any processing cycles if you have multiple copies of the same footage, as long as a number of layers don’t have any identical operators on them, in which case duplicates are wasteful.
