reset default shortcuts?

hi all,

how can i reset wing’s default shortcuts, without deleting my prefs file and loosing all the other settings!?

sure… however there is no button you can push to do this (to my knowledge).

Anyhow just open your wings file in your favorite text editor… then delete all the lines that begin with {{bindkey… then save. That should delete all your saved keybindings.

Can someone tell me what file your opening? i am trying to fix my hotkeys , the ones with multiples tools on it. like deselect i set to D but it is still doing more than deselecting. anyone know were i find that file.

it’s in the preferences file inside the wings3d folder!

uh…well i dont see that file anywere. i have looked like 3 times.

The file is called “Preferences” with no extension (meaning it doesn’t end in .xxx) It should be under C:\Program Files\Wings3D (assuming you installed to the default directory). The file only appears after you successfully close Wings for the 1st time. (Your settings are only saved when you successfully exit Wings).

If its not there you’re gonna have to check the attribtes of the install folder its possible that its set to Read-Only or that you don’t have Write permissions to it, in which case Wings would not be able to create the Prefences file when you close it.
